hey man well he was right in a way but the fish needs time to break down into nutriants by microbes (bacteria & fungi) thats in a organic grow you cant use chemical ferts with it that will kill the bacteria..
tomato ferts work i used some last year but you may need some liquid seaweed as well or something with all the micro nutriants

The old guy is right on the money with the fish, at least one foot for sure also catch it cut it open and then plant it. Fill soil over and than plant your seed or seedling. The American Indians did this when they planted Corn and Soy. I do it here with all my veggies and it works. Also so you know, the reason you plant one foot under is the plant needs very little nutes until the roots get down there and when that happens the plant is big enough to take advantage of the nitrogen in the fish.

By the way, just saying, dont you get like the death penalty in Thailand for growing weed? Thought they were very rough on that over there. Be careful

Also Horse and Cow Manure is golden as well. Very important. Get old stuff that has been in the field for a while, it will turn white. Fresh manuer will kill the plants right away. Break it up and mix a handfull of crushed stuff to the soil keeping it a few inches below the soil, same reason as the fish the roots will find it. Keep a pile of it mixed with soil and you can add it to the plant as it grows larger.

Realy if you have fish, cows or horses you can grow just about anything and have a great crop.

yes.....Tomato and all purpose plant food will all work for growing cannabis.....use 1/4 of the recommended dosage and work your way up so you can get a feel for how much that strain needs......certain strains will only need 4/5th's of the recommended dosage. I have heard about the fish thing but never tried it.....good luck

P.S. if they are flowering you might want to use some Bloom or Bud nutes.....something high low in Nitrogen and high in phosphorus and Potassium.........preferably having Phosphorus as the highest number

also if the package shows it does not contain magnesium you might want to add 1 tablespoon of molasses or Epsom Salt(magnesium sulfate) to each gallon of water every once in a while

My first try with molases as this is my first soil grow, been hydro up to now, I used one tsp per gallon and am going to do it once a week. Is that right it is all I can find seems to be the standard.

cheers fellas thanks for all the info, i'll try a fish with 1 or 2 of the plants, and try out some of your other advise with the others, you don't want to get caught out here, mine are half way up a small mountain side.

Thailand? Thats awesome dude... thats the meaning of exotic weed lol. I dont know what kind of nutes they have over there, but you can always make your own organic plant food. Some ingredients I use for a good mix is earthworm castings, bat guano, used coffee grounds, urea (piss), wood ash, crushed egg shells, and some compost if you have it. The urban legend about putting a fish in the bottom of the pot is just that, an urban legend. The native americans did use fish sometimes, but they used it a year or 2 in advance, to let the fish decompose and properly fertilize the soil. Sticking a fresh fish in the bottom of your pot can have more negative consequences than positive.

i go 1 tablespoon per gallon.....it doesn't hurt anything......i have noticed my plants actually taking more nutrients than when I was feeding at 1 tsp per gallon........the leaves have really started to show the nitrogen uptake in the past 5-8 days........i'm loving the molasses right now.......I feed it to my planting bed as well......i have only had a handful of yellow leaves since the season started......and that is just because they are so bushy the very bottom leaves don't get much sunlight at all. You will see results at 1 tsp per gallon also but i recommend 1 tablespoon just because of what i am experiencing.

Can some one tell me what mollasses does for the soil. Or are there a bunch of sheep herders in this thread. Why did no one mention kelp or alfafa all which will help and would'nt seem suspicious. keepem green dirrtyd

I would alos reccommend a hommade compost withall ur veggie, garden scraps egg shell, grass clippings, leaves. Mix and it will be ready in 6 to 12 months. Not helpful now but for the future.

molasses feeds the microbes in the soil, acts as a chelating agent, and provides micro nutes.....If I'm not mistaken kelp and Alfalfa meal are a good source of Nitrogen, right? I'm pretty sure other gentlemen in this thread have mentioned good sources of nitrogen......but yes I have heard of Alfalfa meal as a good source of Nitro.......and also I was unaware that seaweed wasn't a form of kelp?

Great suggestion....Leaf mold based compost is also great for aerating your soil if it is clay like and if used as a mulch.

Dirtyd, molasses is a very common fert in Thailand. In the village where I live, the Saturday market nursery vendors sell it in "re-purposed" water bottles for 10-20baht/bottle. You'd attract a lot more attention asking for kelp or alfalfa.

With respect to growing, as a farong living in town (pointy nose round eyes are very rare), wouldn't consider growing, but friends who live more remote have grown for personal use only w/no problems. As far as buying it, Pai Brown makes the old Mexican dirt weed look green and lush. The good news is all that heat and humidity makes the pain go away, and the wonder of the culture makes getting high so completely unnecessary I don't even think about smoking.
