I don't know. I live in the North, and apparently we started flowering the last week of July. I'm not sure how accurate that info is. I mean, personally, my plants started pre-flower about that time. What time do y'all flower in the South? Harvest time here is generally the first week of October. That's usually when we get our first frost. Of course, I'm also above the snow belt, so our cold is bitter and icy.

Im in the north too guys just a couple hairs here and there. I actually started covering my green house from 6:40pm to 6:40 am just to make sure its 12/12 and i get a couple extra weeks of flowering out of it. If i didnt start this light depo i think id be even more fucked. I believe im so far north daylight is still around 14 hours long. So yeah holloweenish is when ill harvest

Hey there guys this is my first post and my first grow. Ihave been browsing this site and a couple others for about 6 months now forabout 2 hours a day between work and school and I want to get an idea of whateveryone thinks of my work and some possible yield estimates (I know it’simpossible to know for certain but I am just looking for an estimate please).Based on my research and judging by density I am thinking 2-3lbs for all 14plants, maybe a bit more. They range 3-4 1/2 feet tall and are 4 weeks intoflowering except for pics 2,3,5 and 8 which is 7 weeks ( I guess it wanted anearly start lol) They are from a mixed pack that I got fromhttp://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/ They are all feminized and all came out femaleand every seed germinated. They have been in a greenhouse the whole time and Iused jacks classic and bloom every 3rd watering. Temps range from 65-95% and Iused home depot brown bag potting soil with 3 inches of small stones on thebottom for drainage and they are all in 15 gal pots. The smell is mind-blowingand I can’t wait to put them all in jars in my safe. Thanks everyone for all ofyour posts, past and present, because without this website and a couple othersthe immense amount of info that made this possible would not be so easily accessibleand chances are I would still be buying instead of indulging in the amazing artof growing and my eventual yield. Thanks a bunch!
looking great there!! going to be some nice buds

Well I looked up Houston Texas on weather.com and see there is shorter days there then in Michigan..had no idea that the southern states flowered sooner than the northern ones.

I think it depends more on growing zone. The coasts are exceptional and you can get some early flowering in some higher lattitudes there. Btw, the USDA growing zones were recently updated to reflect the most recent weather data. Most (maybe all) locations improved (growing season lengthened) their zone. Earlier flowering and fruiting has been noted in recent years for a variety of crops.

Wouldn't the north flower earlier than the south?.
No, due to the tilt of the earth on it's axis the north sees more extreme day / night cycle changes. Think polar regions with 24hrs day period in near the summer solstice (24hrs dark during winter solstice). The longer days means later flowering due to the extended photoperiod. The flip side of this coin is that northern regions do not have the luxury of growing year round outdoors :(

I hope that makes sense

thanks..it helps.. I knew this current outdoor grow was behind every other I have ever done ..I just moved 2 hours northeast this summer and left Chicago for Michigan...would not think 2 hours makes that much of difference ..but I guess it does.

Running out of room and just baaaaarely starting to flower way up here on the 47th.
I hope i can harvest something out of this. this is my first outdoor this far north. And im already not too keen on the fact theyre not really flowering yet so i started light depo from 6:40 pm to 6:40 am with black and white poly over my whole green house.
Daylight right now is still up there in the 14 hour region so hopefully flower really kicks in here an i can harvest by holloween:wall:

First ever grow. Had a few obstacles with a few plants, but alas I have three left. The one in flower is Big Bud and the one not yet flowering is Sweet Deep Grapefruit. Not pictured is Twilight, which just showed preflowers last week. Really pumped for Harvest season.

Ok..so the clones I gave a friend are at the same stage of mine ..so the 2 hour drive did not have any effect on the slow flowering .....This season is just very messed up, couple people think that the oil spill in the gulf fucked everything up with drought and extreme heat since spring and no real winter..I am starting to see some progress now Finally!.
