ok,i was wondering how it is possible for your bong to "break" or stop working because i have never owned one but im about to buy one

Perhaps he did not clean out the tube for the ashes to be drawn into the water? It you go too long with out reaming it out to clean it....that combination of ash and resinated matter could cause the bong to stop drawing air through the pipe. Just a thought....

dude its not like a dvd player, you dont need a owners manual. its just a pipe, the only thing that would happen is it gettin clogged with res and in that case, scrape that shit up, and you got some more smokage.

I know it seems obvious, but if you've been away from the smokage for a few years or a few decades you forget about the scraping, etc.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was so goofy that I thought I bought crap weed at one point. Nope, just needed to clean the damn screen.

oh yea,wtf are screens for?ive seen them in online shops and i was like...wtf is that?yea,im a pothead but i still dont know EVERYTHING :p

it lets you grind up the weed to just really tiny stuff and smoke it. it's easier to smoke then because it completely burns all the way through. whereas when I just stuck a little chunk of the bud in my bong it would take 3 more hits to burn it all up.

He may have only smoked once it's a little embaressing to say hey man I'm a stupid noob..... some people can't do that ..... so there are 2 screens....one for the bowl in your bong. or pipe whatever....it keeps ashed chunks from flying in your mouth.... the other as they said is used for breaking dope up.....but you can grind it too. anyway back to the BONG.
maybe the stem got pulled pushed and the rubber seal is bad...or lost it"s seal. get a new seal and stem...if the bong has a carb on it....a carb is a small hole you put your finger over while inhaling... let go of it when you are about to finish the hit then keep inhaling clearing the rest of the smoke... any other questions ask...I will see if I can help minus the attitude.....:blsmoke:
