So those balls near the growth, are just more growth?no signs yet
With the image provided scroglodyte is on the money.....and yes most likely new growth.no signs yet
Just keep an eye one them as they are 'pre flowers' but as others here have said it is still to early to tell... use an mag and keep a look out for two 'tiny' hairs (they will be tiny at first). I thought my plant was male at this stage as well.. we new growers must be patient (my first lesson growing)So those balls near the growth, are just more growth?
They are preflowers growing between the stipules and new branch. With the image provided scroglodyte is on the money.....and yes most likely new growth.

Males don't show their balls all at once. They will have one ball at first then grow the rest....you will see a cluster a balls on a male.
...what your seeing is a calyx. Pistils will appear as 2 white hairs, in a 'v-shape' from the calyx if it's a female.
...true. I don't discard a male untill I see a cluster.Males don't show their balls all at once. They will have one ball at first then grow the rest.

If it starts as a round sphere but turns into leaves that push out, it's just normal growth. But if it's a little round sphere that doesn't turn into leaves and stays kind of white and flowery looking and amasses in clusters of about four in the crooks of the branches, then you've got a male. Here's what I mean:
