Older people of RIU..

What health issues do you attribute to lifestyle compared to genetics as you've aged?

Do you feel your eating or smoking (cigs) habits have caused damage to your body over the years?

If you could go back, would you still do it, or would you take better care of yourselves?

Those that are elderly with no medical conditions, what do you attribute it to? What's the key to longevity?

Nurses have a hard time getting blood out of me. Enough about that. Also got gout which could be genetic or dietary. Prostate trouble, just from age. Crappy teeth, from cancer treatment.

hep c......................from shooting up
Would you go back and change anything if you could?

What does that condition feel like, what did you have to change in your life to deal with it?

i grew a tit! fucking serious, and they said it was the grass.
You grew a tit? What does that mean, how did that happen? Did you get more than one consultation for diagnosis? How does weed make you grow a tit?!

allway easy to be clever looking back, and sure we all have sumthing we would do diffrent, but truth is that we most likely would act the same and do the same mistakes all over, unless we had the knowledge's we have now, witch we don't have as a young person.

its also how you look at it, life quality, live in the moment as some clever guy allways tell you to, useing hours a day to get a few more healthy years out of it in the end is a gamble, would suck to life at "half steam" just to get run over by a Car at the ages of 50 or sumthing similar, you also often hear stories about Etc. a 25 with lung cancer and then see some dude that smoked all his life and is +90 and still smoking ..

What is gout and how do you deal with it?

What sort of prostate trouble?

How has cancer affected your teeth?

Forgive the questions, just really interested in avoiding such conditions!

Masectomys? Is that where they surgically remove the breast tissue?

Was this a complete shock to you at the time? How did you handle it, what was your reaction? Do you attribute it to smoking marijuana?

Full steam ahead, dodge as many rocks as you can along the way.

Who really wants to get old and die anyway? When shitting yourself becomes routine rather than occasional.

Measure life in moments, not miles.

I'm healthy as a horse, and I have smoked since the age of eleven. I think genetics plays a huge role in that though. My grandmother was 103 when she died. My grandfather was 98. If I had it to do over I wouldn't have started smoking ciggs... Nasty habit. Very addictive.

I have heard of men growing breasts with long term, heavy pot smoking. I have never seen it. If that happened I may reconsider smoking it... Naw... I would still smoke it, and just take male hormones to balance it out. :weed:

I have hep c also. Cigs are the worst thing anyone can do. I wish I had never smoked the things but I did.

Interesting thread. Personally I regret cigarettes. I know for fact that smoking hasn't been good for my gums/teeth (dentist in family) however I've pretty much got away with the raving days. I was surrounded by all sorts of drugs in London and unlike many mates around me didnt end up on anything serious. I know people who ended up in a bad way It was always weed and whiskey for me - in that order but not at the same time! I definitiely can't swim a KM in one go now!! I always ate well and was in the gym for years and this definitely helped.

From the outside I look good and my body looks at least 10 yrs younger, my face looks my age I think but I'd hate to see the state of my lungs!!

Ps Smoking hasn't made my chest bigger, quite the opposite as I used to have a right pair !!

i was/still a gym rat. never smoke cigs and hardly smoke pot (vaction time)untill i retired. i have artritis in my elbows and knees, i atribute that to 20 years of steroid abuse. would i use them again, wellllllll, i just use low doses now, for medicinal use.

I can answer your cigarette question........I kept having headaches and pains and shit and when it just kept getting worse, I realized that it was my damn smoking that was making it worse.....I quit smoking. I had tried B 4....I reduced the # of cigarettes per day and was at zero after 12 days or so. My headaches are gone and my health is back. I'm not an old fart @ 41 yrs old. It's 41 yrs young again. The shit's gonna kill you. You need to quit smoking cigarettes.......and/or get an electronic cigarette and see if you like them

And vaporize your weed, too

Gout, I gather is an allergic reaction to something (Ususally in shell fish for the Japanese), that makes the extremities swell.
I had an old boss, that I used to fuck with whenever he would come in limping in the morning, I would razz him, and ask..... Who's the dumb fuck that had seafood last night?
