The sad fact is: Obama is 1/2 black and pro GLBT rights and still....and still...AND STILL...there are people who can't accept black people or the GLBT community at all

only in the western portions of africa. in the east the slave trade was run by musselmen who still run a delightful slave trade in east africa today.

There is absolutely NO fucking way you can prove that b-cuz black history was not recorded back then....period.....I challenge U to submit clear and logical proof that this was the case. If you can prove it to me, I will mail U an 1/8th of top-shelf Texas cannabis! 4 real.....prove it 2 me/us or GTFO of my face

It's a matter of history, Prisoner. It is well documented. Stronger groups would prey on weaker ones and rival groups would sell each other off. Usually it was due to ethnic conflict. White slavers took advantage of age old rivalries and sometimes escalated the tension between groups.

they weren't just "handed" they were "sold" people back then just as now will do many an inhumane thing when theres a chance of increasing their assests

have you any evidence that benevolence was the only trait in africa at the time of the slave trades?

do you think only whites or yellow colored people could sell there own out? i'm not calling you names, open your mind( you seemed to have with other touchy subjects....gay rights...). the tribes with the stronghold would selloff neighboring tribes, it was a win,win for them. of course till there was no more neighboring tribes.

some african hetmen also sold off their own people who were criminals, out of favour or a threat to their power as slaves.

an ambitious third son could well find himself of a boat to america if he was just a little too popular with the leading rivals to the crown prince.

read the whole article, its not about the 2007 retracing of the voyage of the amistad, its about the history that many prefer not to see, and how it was glossed over by the amistad project's publications and leaders. its not a fun thing to look at, particularly from a pan-african perspective, but you cant ignore the truth and expect to move forward, in any endeavor.
