If the smell intrudes into other areas you have an obligation to control it. As for drugs, every person in that condo association has drugs in their homes. Prescription drugs...which is exactly what you have. Tell them they have narcotics and you're calling the cops on them. They'll say they have a prescription...you say so do I.

Dont need to read if you dont want... knowing cops are going to pick you setup apart and whole unit for something illegal and you know its coming sucks. Not as bad as not knowing lol but its still nerve wrecking knowing nothing you can do but wait.

I have alot on the line for my family which is why i was freaking. Shouldve figured that out before i was in this mess but live an learn.

Get a lawyer on them They'll stop, guaranteed. If the cops do come, go ahead and sue...for several million. Violation of your rights under the law, etc. Make 'em pucker.

Tell the cops he's harrassing you if they check. Have all your legal permits available.

If you demonstrated that you are legal and they still called the cops they'd be filing a false police report. You might explain that to them and tell them the cops don't like when people waste their time like that.

So what happened? I don't think you'll have a problem. Writing the neighbor and the condo board via a lawyer could be a good idea. Under the law your employer and landlord aren't allowed to discriminate against you for participation in the program. Outlaw

Off topic but wow

Rhode island is a lot more lienant in their law then in my state. Nowhere are we protected from termination for mmj.

As others have said, relax and face the day when they come. Have card and counts correct and ready. Show all you have if asked and everything will go smooth. I personally have my recommendation lamented and hanging on the door of the grow room. There is as a copy of my card in the packet as well as well as my books with any plant info I have recorded next to that as well. I do not have any other information strewn about. My grow room today is much more presentable then it was when I first became legal.
Sadly I am knocking out the room as well and rebuilding but...

If your counts were fucked up and you sat on lbs, then get ready for the unpleasant.

As for the neighbor, under your law you can file harassment charges if he continues to provoke your rights to use the law as intended. As a matter fact in your shoes "Here lets call them together, be prepared to get what you ask for." Would be my response, I wouldn't go about saying or doing that now, let sleeping dogs die, I mean lie.
I as well would have had a filter. I know that's now to late, but as a responsible neighbor in your community you have gave him fuel for anything he wants to address. Health code or what have you. I mean we know you have sex, but you dont bang your woman in the front window or porch for all to see right? His concerns very well might be you are not a legit mmj card holder. Keep in mind he may as well be envisioning you as a drug czar and his neighborhood is going to see drug wars played out in the streets daily, or visiting crack whores. Some people are closed minded on the alternative meds thing. No sense provoking them.

Ignore the post about taking a gun and knocking on his door crap. Really who in their right mind suggest committing a felony to begin with? Matter fact if you have any firearms, I would suggest not having in the area your grow resides. Things can get mistaken about intentions fast. Especially with your current situation.

Stop destroying records of your grow, sheesh, unless the feds appear you lost grow data for future references. You as well lost data that will show the police you are running a legitimate grow. I would be more apt as an officer seeing organization and such of records to say " Eh, this fucker has his shit together, lets go check out that floating body they just recovered". Then to say " Hmm, lets dig further in this guys shit, there's a peanut to be had somewhere." As well no way to show where you got your merchandise for the grow, remember crackheads will steal anything for fix.
Even though legal and within limits as well, I am the type after all is said to move my grow location as now its been compromised. Hard to secure something when everyone knows where it is.
Best of luck, the sky isn't falling unless your way over.

I certainly wish my state laws read as yours.

Grow with a non-smelling strain next time.... Sure, they all smell a little but some a lot more than others.

You don't need a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter to the neighbor, complaining about their blatant slander against you. They have no proof that you are growing, yet they have openly accused you of doing something illegal. That's slander, and guess what -- it's against the law. Just type up a formal letter and send it to the neighbor as a certified letter. That should send a clear message that you are not to be fucked with.

Why would the police say that they are going to check it out tomorrow? Doesn't sound like cops to me. Sounds like a mind fuck.

Well take this into consideration. Since your legal and have documentation then you have nothing to worry about unless the DEA actually comes. Then the only thing the DEA would be likely to do in your case would be to take the meds, and leave you alone. Since the probability that there will be no federal intervention the local cops will probably do nothing and leave you alone with your plants. Regardless of what they do, after they leave I would do two things. First I would inform the neighbor that he has violated HIPA laws and by sending out a mass email meant to harass you that you intend to seek the advice of an attorney in order to explore the possibility of seek damages whether the police take your weed or not but especially if they take your weed and leave you without meds. Then follow through with that and find a good MMJ lawyer and see if you can't turn the whole thing back on your neighbor and make his life a little uncomfortable for a change.

No you don't. If someone is cooking dead cows they don't have an obligation to control the smell. then why would someone have an obligation to control a smell like some weed?

To have the calming effect knowing that no one knows what you're doing, instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off worrying and becoming more and more paranoid.

While I believe any local/state pd would not have problems as far as legality of the grow under state law with proper authorization, the boards policy on drugs ect might be conflicting with any state law that allows you to grow on their property, regardless of public/private venue setting, lets face it; even if you are legal and are a good person, you would need to control odor in a public apartment/condo setting, the card does not give you the right to make the whole block smell like marijuana, especially if children live in the facility... Hope everything turns out ok and they let you stay in the place with a better control on odor as opposed to being dicks...good luck bud. I don't think you'll get in any big trouble, but the worst case scenario could be your condo board deciding they don't want to allow that type of activity to continue without proper ventilation/neutralization of the odors..I guess it wouldn't hurt if they did show up, to offer that as a alternative in good faith...you spent alot on nuets ect I'm sure you could afford a good vent setup being legal and all. gl

If I was you personally, I would have not told the neighbor anyway as its pretty much something he should be discussing with the lease owner of the property, as a resident of the property you could take it upon yourself to control the situation and call or better visit someone on the board or whoever overseas the condos with the proper documentation, either way its better then leaving the situation as "will the cops show up or not, neighbor is a dick" scenario....

That's different from an implied obligation to neighbors.
