Fat and wide

I am new to this. Heat, humidity, soil, nutrients, lighting, ventilation, location, tent and room, getting seeds and a million other details; it has been very interesting. So far, it is going ok. I wanted to post some pictures for any and all comments. My reaction to my plants is they are short (4" to 5" tall) and 9"wide, but very healthy looking. The are Feminized White widows.

Blackstar chrome 6 since germination. Currently at 34". I am figuring it out as I go, but plan to lower it when they get a bit taller.

The black tube is the drawn in air duct that takes warmest air from the top of container and exhausts it across the wet towel in the pitcher. This and the fabric smart pots raised the humidity from 35 to 45%

I think this is day 20. My record sheet is not available where I am. The Blackstar has really impressed so far.

The Blackstar continues to shine. I am amazed how thick and robust the plants look. I should leave well enough alone, but I couldn't. Last night I FIMed one White Widow and started a LST with wire on another. The 3rd I left alone. I also did not touch the lone, Critical Jack Herer.
Classic trial and error. We will see.

On friday, I lowered my light a few inches. On sunday the plants seemed to be responding with the leaves reaching upward and seemed a bit taller in just 48 hours. Because I am going away for a week starting the weekend, I raised it back to where it was. I wish I could be around to mess with the light distance and start flower. They will start flower at the beginning of week 8.
Today I ordered a new 2' x 4' tent and a pair of BlackStar Chrome 180s. If I don't need the space when I flower, I will start an auto (narcotic kush) grow.

I am using 3 gallon fabric grow bags. I didn't allow for soil settling, so they are about 75 to 80% full. I allow the water to flow onto the tent floor and either evaporate or soak back in. The fabric allows for a very rapid evaporation which makes me wonder how well the food is absorbed. Next grow I will use at least one plastic container to compare. It seems if they are wet longer, the plants can take better advantage of food and water.

45 days of veg and now 2nd day of flower. Black Star is at 24" and will get a lower if the plants respond well.

After 9 days of flower, I put the plants into a new tent to give them more room. The light is now 2 Blackstar Chrome 180s instead of a single BS Chrome 270.
The pictures are:

• The new set up
• A picture of some brown (dry) areas on the leaves of 2 of the 4 plants, and
• A picture of the lower leaves that are yellowing and then slowly dying.

I have been using FF full strength and Cal Mg as per their feed schedule for the last 2 water/ feedings. I can not imagine it is any type of deficiency. As back ground, they have been very close together and very little light is hitting the lower leaves. I have had a fan below the canopy and above blowing directly on the plants from a few inches away. I have splashed some nutrient solution on then a few times. Temp, humidity and light are good. Ph has been adjusted to be within the 6.0 to 6.5 range and water is 170 ppm tap that is set out for 24 hours and always has an air stone in it. As a first step, I ran a few gallons of ph correct water through the plants, but I want to feed soon because they are in flower. My feeding has included the Open Sesame. I have seen a few comment that others have had some issues with it.
Also, I just germinated and put 3 Auto Narcotic Kush and 1 Auto Ultraviolet seeds in FFOF 3 gal pots and started 18/6 under the BS Chrome 270.
I will update that as it moves along.
Please comment on the pictures if you have a thought. The plants look healthy and vibrant, but the leaf issues are keeping me wathcful.

As I said in my last update, I started having issues a few days before start of flowering. What is odd, is that 2 White Widows had a lot of bad leaf juju, 1 White Widow had some and the lone Critical Jack Herer was fine. All had had the same treatment, feeding etc.. I flushed, then fed. The bad juju got worse and the good plant got better. Then I changed things up and fed the WWs a different food with more N. After a few days, no great changes for the better. Yesterday, I tried to treat for a MG def. which is what I had narrowed it down to. Epsom salt foliar application on the worst 2 and the same soulution into the soil of all . The Critical Jack got water only. After 24 hours (post epsom and 48 hours post different food) the Widows are showing a little better posture with the leaves and flowers. Hope to have a good report in a week. If anyone reading this has not scoured any of Uncle Ben's threads, you should. He has given me a totally different outlook on growing.

BTW, one of the plants is taller than the others and is within 8 or 10 inches of the light. It is doing fine. I am starting to feel it is better to position the Blackstars for coverage rather then worrying about distance from the light. Everthing in the tent seems fine light wise in spite of varing distance. Range is 8" to 24". Obviously, heavy leaf coverage is a factor due to my not pruning at all.
