lots of us enlisted members made out fine, its just the fact i think you have more to offer then just a hand instead of a leader

even in writing , i got my a school , jet engine mech yet the squadron i was attached to was doomed to be disbanded at the end of my enlistment , no promotions no lateral movement out of the squadron it was a trap

I got offered the A school I wanted if I reenlisted

That's why I only did 4

Oh and my recruiter said I didnt want a A school. I could easily get into any rate I wanted

Bunch of bullshit.

They might try to make you feel like you need them more than they need you, but you don't. A 93 asvab puts you pretty high up in the rankings for desirability and if you have no waivers like arrests or physical issues and you have a diploma (not a GED), you're already cream of the crop. Make em give you everything they have to offer.

I think I got a 95 on the absvab but I didnt have a diploma at the time. It was also during Reagans recession
I actually completed the Corpsman course and even worked in duty rotation in the sick bay. But in order for me to get a school i would have to reenlist. I said no. And dont regret the decision at all. Most of the guys I have seen that retired after 20 are fucking wrecks

No , aircrew . I had civil air patrol for a few years when I was a teen . Recruiters lie like crazy . You ever hear of a Pell grant ? Free college money , if you could do that and become an officer you could be a pilot or a lot of other really better paying things . No one told me about this stuff before I enlisted . Look into it , it is really worth it if you can qualify to become an officer . It could completely change your life .

My college roommate was a professional student. He was a pilot in the national gaurd and they paid everything for school. Plus he got to fly choppers every weekend. I think he was in his 8th year going to school

I did, I could have gotten more for one of the jobs I was qualified to do that were more selective than the infantry, but since I was such a moron and signed up for infantry anyway, I only got a $3,000 bonus for going airborne.

I doubt my old first sergeant would be able to keep a job.
