what week is it? how long in 12/12 now?

about 23 days since I changed the light cycle. What's that, three weeks... they did not show much at all the first week... I should have done the gradual transition to warn them :0]

More pics coming in a minute, got everything tied down so it's all the same height now.

I've decided to forego the scrog screens for now... if I need light-protection later I'll rig something over the side lights to act as a screen to hold the buds an inch or so off the lights... crossing my fingers on all that, haha.

I think I might grow up 6 of the rasp. coughs in 5 gal bags on the rollies with the screens in place in time this time... then I can select for a pheno and monster crop a mother clone in flowering. I think 6 is the lucky number with this setup... it's like everything would be perfect if I had one less, lol.

Anyway, I ended up moving one of them onto the other rolly so that the ones that have been cooped up have room to breathe... spread their wings with dental floss tie downs, and now everything is the same height. Pics after I upload...

I've switched to feeding half strength every feeding instead of full strength every other feeding, to help combat pH swing. I think it is helping. Either that or all the bloom food is. Either way, things have smoothed out for the most part I think... still seeing some yellowing near the bottom, but it seems to have stopped spreading up. Definitely a good bit of purple in a couple of my jackberry plants, but I'm chalking it up to the strain at this point. They're getting plenty of food, and being watered with 5.6-5.8 feed, which should be edging down the overall pH at this point. I'll probably check run off again at next feeding and decide where to go from here, either back to bubbling to keep pH a little higher, or keep up the non-bubbled feedings.

Mother chamber is in place and I'm doing a test run to see how the temps handle the amount of light and the tiny fan I've got on in there... it's almost nothing so I don't expect it to stabilize... we'll see tho...

Then it's ready for action... clones are a little late but I'm still going to try a monster crop from at least the really lush looking jackberry and probably a clone from that herijuana too, just to hold onto the strain until I get an idea what the smoke is like... everyone says herijuana is the ultimate couchlock and a poor yielder, so maybe that's why the node spacing sucks and it seems smaller than the others... I'm hoping it will kick in soon and start taking off.

probably just monster crop the smallest clone I can off everything just to see what I can do with the new cloner and how they handle the monster cropping.

I've got a bunch of kolossus seeds left so I'm not too worried bout carrying that strain forward... I'll probably sit on jackberry for indica and then pursue a good pheno for a sativa to keep... I want to start doing sativa-heavy strains, even if it means longer grows... I love that sativa high. Right now the only hybrid I'm growing is the kolossus... we'll see how that treats me. But I am more interested in getting a good pheno from that raspberry cough right now.


Edit: so far, the temps are rising in the mother chamber, haha. I have a remote sensor in there and I'm keeping an eye on it. I probably have to improve the ventilation... maybe I'll cut a hole dead-center in the top of the thing for the fan, see if that does it.

Hmm, I dunno, I want to start those rasp. cough seeds, so I might delay the sog I was planning on trying. If so, I think I'll end up doing 6 rasp. cough plants in the scrog nets I was going to use for this grow... then select a mother from those...

Oh, and I lost another red sun. The other one's still going strong. Those are really fickle bulbs. That's three I've lost now.

I replaced the red sun with the fabled fiji purple of olde. Oh yes, she still lurks in these forests... awaiting her long lost love, the hallowed "spectral analysis graph"..

That thing is like a curveball! Now when my buds get ridiculously huge we won't know if it was from her magical talents, or the other 15 lights...

I'm starting to believe that the aquariums bulbs are just NOT worth it anymore........Hyroot/luciuos have gone back to all white T5 6500/5000k and have the best results so far, I've pulled all my florasuns and put back the 6500k to compare growth rates....

all i run is 5000k and some actinic blue in veg with great results, if i was flowering with em i would do all 5000k and maybe one or 2 6500k. or one of those and actinic.(out of 6 bulbs)

Haha... I am going to use the bulbs I have on hand until I run out of bulbs, basically. So I foresee a 6500k/2400k run in my future. Hopefully by the time all these bulbs are gone I can afford something different, haha. Then it's on to whatever's the best current LED purchase probably, or maybe an inda-gro, or maybe both. Or I'll go HID, if I'm in a more comfortable grow space by then.

I'm not a tried and true dedicated T5'er by any stretch... but it did save me the trouble of running a high heat bulb in a very tight closet space. heh. I don't really like having to keep the canopy so fine-tuned. I look forward to the day when I can do a sog with plants at multiple stages without huge headaches.

being open to options is a good thing ive seen so many good grows using al forms of light, just a matter of how you grow. induction is pretty sweet i want to go that route for flower one day in combination with a hps.

Did you see that article that was posted up a few months ago? Something about frosted tips... a specific phenomena where the plant packs on a solid-white layer of trichomes just on the very tippy tip of the bud... they were saying they could induce it by providing 660nm in a huge abundance, but only in the ABSENCE of 680nm.

I don't know how serious that shit was but it was very intriguing... if that pans out I can see LED with heavy 660nm specifically omitting 680nm to be all the rage, because it'd be hard to guarantee that specific a contrast in such a tight range with any other technology... maybe I'm wrong on that.. just my assumption...

Like you said, I am interested in trying all sorts of things, haha. Keeping my eye on that situation though.

the fuzzball? me and a guy where talking about that the other day, in fact was getting them pretty often in my old hps MH setup where the HPS only was on for 1 hours a lights on and 1 hour before they go out. no i have only got one like that and that was a while ago, im not sure what causes it but its pretty cool looking, often they will com out like a super pistil ball on the top of a bud(doesn't necessarily have to be the top of the plant)
but i swear when those are smoked alone, its better than hash.


what i want to see is some buds on my fan leaves, i was just looking at some yesterday its the coolest thing ever.

Built a custom 2-4 bulb CFL reflector for the mother chamber... right now it's only rigged up for two, but I could go up to 4 effectively with it. Got the bulk of the light leaks in the mother chamber taken care of... the zipper still glow a little, but I even got a layer of black fan filter mesh in front of the intake and the output as well, just to be safe light-wise. So there should be almost no leakage now.

Drinkin my coffee and plotting ahead... got a couple tasks to complete before celebrating too hard... though i've barely put down my sativa vape pen all day, lol.
