Why can't i rep

Hey all , this is my first thread here. I just wanted to know when i'm able to give people reputation?
I have recieved rep from a couple of people now and i can't return it to them

i think you need to have x amount of posts or be a member here for x amount of time.. i'm not sure what x is as i was never very good at algebra..

seriously though, just hang around and post a bit more and i'm sure you'll be repping like no ones business..

and not sure if you know this, but the rep button is to the left of the bottom of my post where it says journal this post, hint, hint, lol.. j/k..

there should be a start there and you click on that and it will allow you to give rep.. if you're not seeing the star, my guess is it's one of those x's i was talking about in me first post...

i'm not sure peyote.. i know you can leave rep when you don't have much, it's just that the person you're leaving rep to won't get much, or any, rep points from that rep'er..
i think you get 1/100th of the rep points the person rep'ing you has, so unless that person has over 100 rep points, you won't get any rep added to your score..

yah, it's next to the report post button, so you must not be able to rep yet as you're looking in the correct spot..

I see the star and just left you positive rep. I have fewer posts than you so it can't be post count. Maybe it's time induced? Or as someone said... have rep already (I have one rep).

I would like to know when I will be able to waltz into that classified department. It's still private for me.

Yeah that's kinda what I meant, musts didn't know the exact how and why. I know he soon will be able to "give rep" but like you said, until he has enough it won't actually boost my rep if he tried giving my some. Makes sense.

Looks like its a time thing. Maybe have to be a member for a month, or two weeks maybe. Not sure...

it must be a time thing then nitro, i thought it was one or the other.

same as say pm privileges here, you need to have x amount of time in before you're able to pm...
