I learned this from T&T. Every thread has its own feel, style and trajectory. Combining them often turns a handful of living cheery (or not-so-cheery when the flames lick a little higher) exchanges into one uncomfy auditorium. So I view multiple threads on one topic, so long as they're not started with an identical OP, with more delight than consternation. More climby-things makes a better playground, no? cn
It is an American English/British English thing. I did not know that "practise" is a verb and "practice" is a noun so I learned something, which is cool with me. In American English "practice" serves both functions. The English language is complicated enough for me without having to diagram a sentence to decide how to spell "practice", so I prefer the American version.
I sometimes view multiple threads about the same thing too, and no, it doesn't. I see the same people talking about the same topic about what they just said in a different thread.
