Im curios how long it takes a female plant after being polinated to produce mature seeds? My plant looks done but...i was going for seeds this run and not worried with bud ripeness. Got a few amber trichs now here and there. But like i said i want mature usable seeds.

A female can. Be pollinated at any time when flowering ....so if it gets pollinated 2 weeks before ripeness will you get mature seeds??? So how long does it take seeds to fully mature?

i would think in order to get good seeds you would need to pollinate yur buds as soon as they show sex, or not long after so they can reach full maturity by the time the buds ripened..

average is 4weeks. on a fast maturing plant it can be faster ( I have had them in 3) but best to give it 4-5 weeks

For my best chance of getting good seeds i pollinated everyday for about a week when she first had some pistils start clustering. That was at least 6 weeks ago. She is an auto spyder from BCG. Company says 70 days but she is on 78 i think.

after 6 weeks you should have seeds. something isn't right there. maybe your pollen was no good?

Im thinking and hoping they are on the inner part of the bud! The outer parts of the bud are the newer parts so im hoping the older inner parts are full of seeds.

Anyone else have some info on this topic for me. Some of you breeders out there should know. I could use your help for future grows if anything else.

Shortly after you pollinated your plant, the pollinated pistils should have darkened in colored and receded a bit. You should have then seen the pollinated calyxes swell and appear larger than the non pollinated calyxes. After 4-6 weeks some of the pollinated calyxes should have begun to split exposing part of the seed.

If you have not seen any of this then I would assume, as someone above mentioned, your pollen was bad.

How exactly do you get bad pollen??? I took it straight from male plant and put it on female hairs with a paint brush and then dumped a shitload on it.

The same way you get bad semen. Moisture also kills pollen.

3-6 weeks is the norm for seeds it just depends on the strain and environment. You can see evidence of pollination almost immediately. The pistils turn brown and receed into the calyx and then the calyx swells and will split as the seed grows.

Now that you mention it. I dont recall the pistils turning brown or receding after pollinating her. Oh well if she didnt give me seeds i will try again soon. Spyder strain is drying now and smells fantastic! Like fruit Loops!

No. I pollinate at the begining of the third week, and I get nice mature seeds at harvest.
