The people who had to live as slaves are absolutely owed reparations from the 2% of the southern population who owned them. Let's fix that.

Our country has dark periods of her history that should never be ignored. However, they also need to be put in perspective so we can understand who committed the atrocities.
We should probably try to go forward with equality in laws. Law should be colorblind, well, justice is supposedly blind. We need to work harder on that. All men are created equal. Being born of different colors should not require different laws. We just perpetuate racism with racist policies.
People who think blacks are somehow substandard and need help that other ethnicities don't are the worst sort of racists. They enact hurtful, dividing policies based on this bigotry. They think they are helping, that's the saddest part.
