Why can't we just banish these people that BS their way around. I know that they would just use another name but at least they would loose their post count. Most newb see the large post counts and honestly believe these are the people to listen too
Give one warning, then take away their post count and if that doesn't stop the crappalanche then remove them completely.
These people really are bringing RIU down.

Sorry if i sound like a supercop-mod. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but I'm getting complaints from other mods about how crazy this room is, and from would-be members that say they'll never come back to RIU because of the way they were talked to in Newbie Central. I don't like editing and deleting posts. It does nothing for me but make me uncomfortable. Know that.
Yeah when I first got here I was a little cocky and full of information from reading every cannabis growing guide books and pdfs I could get my hands on. All the High-Times magazines kept me up to date on the gear. I read as many Treating Yourself magazines as I could. I read the monthly articles Shantibaba (Mr. Nice) put out religiously. I studied strain history Haze, Northern Lights and G-13. I read about the beef between Neville and David Watson.
So i figured knowing this gave me the right to give advice about everything.
I was humbled and I stopped doing that. Now I only give advice on things I know about personally. But I don't have to be a grow guru to know when someone is being a jerk to someone else for no reason.
But in all seriousness, You shouldn't listen to just one person EVER unless you know them well and they have a good rep as a grower, but you should always have at least 3 or 4 sources of input for any questions you have. Always get a second opinion, and if you have any doubts, just don't do it till you get more information.

Since the forum is a vbulletin forum the Admins can actually block your IP address from anyone they ban. I ran a Vbulleting forum before and when we banned people we could block their Ip address so anytime they try to create a new account they were blocked from it.
