Moe I have a very easy bread recipe, I bake bread all the time, especially in the winter...I use a brick oven heated by a rocket stove outside in the summer....oh it makes great pizza too...
Nice one 'Whocares'. ... I'll be starting next week wednesday/thursday, I would appreciate it you could pm me your recipe and any hints, anytime before then.

I'm eating nearly a loaf a day and if I want quality I need to walk to the bakery. Most of the time I go there just to get my fix of bread smells. Would be great if I could have some nice smells other than Ganja wafting from under my door.

:peace:

Using to boost a base nute, I can see that. Like you I have the syringes from 1 mL to 60 mL, but looking at it from the common grower that just wants bud as cheap and quick as possible is what I was thinking for time and cost.

Since going to hempy method, my reason less labor and better production rate both quality and quantity. The option to boost certain nutes like nitrogen or potassium or any trace element at a given time would be a benifit.

Ive spent so long trying to get my grow room ready and learning whats what .. learning the strains etc Ive had little time to focus on the plant itself. ... I have quite recently stated I don;t pH or EC or even test for them .... but now I'm beginning to feel like I want to explore that side more.

Its amazing though, how the really little things can make a difference. Just having enough syringes so you don't have to wash them out every-time helps. So does things like having enough buckets etc. ... I'm learning that growing success is built upon a hundred little variables that you need to get in place, then things become a lot easier.

Okay guys, after 3 years without them, they're back, everyone's favorite - fucking spider mites. I had mites years ago when I first got clones (they had mites on them when I got them) - managed to get rid of them with aggressive treatments of neem oil and hot shot No Pest Strips (NPS)... This infestation is not too bad right now, I have one mother plant that is hit pretty good but I hosed it with neem last night (I'm using the einstein cold pressed expensive shit mixed with some all-natural Brommer's peppermint soap). Then I went to Home Depot and scooped up 3 NPS's.

I found a few mites on a few of my plants in the flower room, but hardly any signs of leaf damage yet - probably why I didn't know they had moved in. I know the chemicals in the NPS's are not too good for you but with my perpetual setup I need to use something in the bloom room to manage these little fuckers since I can't really spray any of my flowering plants (4+ weeks old on all of them right now, can't spray neem on them). We are moving in a few weeks to the new place and I really don't want them to come along for the ride.

Any tips that WOH members have in their crusades against mites, I'm all ears. Anybody ever mix up a natural spray? I recall reading stuff about garlic and cheyenne pepper working in combination with neem treatments (the theory being - mix up your treatment methods so they don't resist one treatment). Ive been using NPSs as preventative for years since my first episode but I got 'lax on replacing them once a month like I use to.. Probably why I have them now.[/QUOTe

Put the NPS on the fan so it blows directly on the plants. Use 2 if possible on opposite sides of the room and it should be fine

Goodluck man, I can't stand those things. They really take the piss when they start spinning webs.
I caught them early, absolutely no webs anywhere. I cut down half of the worst mother plant - strawberry blue - and made a 2 gallon batch of neem oil/Brommer's soap and literally dunked them into the solution for 20-30 seconds and then sprayed the shit out of them in the shower to dislodge some of these fuckers. Did that to the OG Kush mom too. The others don't show any damage yet. I am going to continue to treat those with my pump sprayer (if you don't own one I HIGHLY advise it, one of my best tools in my garden @ $15).

I have been thinking about letting everything in the bloom room finish out but I had 25 clones fully rooted that the wife and I didn't want to just toss them out so I potted those up today. I found a few mites on them too, so I dunked them before throwing them into the 2l bottles (much less drama to dunk 6" clones lol). I am making up a habenero pepper spray tomorrow to mix up the treatment with the neem oil. The bloom room is going to get a few new NPS's every 3 days for the next two weeks - this might seem like overkill but since I can't spray these and my setup is perpetual I need a way to put them down without physical treatment. Not sure if I should also bomb the bloom room; my instincts say 'NO' since my buds might have some of that residue on them...

the most important thing about controlling spider mites is how you apply your pesticide, regardless of the pesticide being used. Ive used spinosad with spreader sticker (wetting agent) and had tremendous success, and now use mighty bomb with spreader sticker. If you make sure and get every square inch of foliage soaked, with minimal dripping into your medium, with the lights and ventilation off, and repeat applications 1-2 weeks from then, you should be all set. the most important thing is getting everything sterile and making sure you do a thorough application. Some people vacuum their plants off first , as a first step

Jela - I will make this tomorrow for another form of treatment. Have you had success with this habenero spray before?

Thinking about SNS 217 and Mighty Wash too. I really want these gone and will go to any lengths to make that happen. Mites are not something to fuck around about especially in perpetual.
I would try Neem oil in the substrate to provide systemic defence. I would try Mighty Wash as a foliar for external defence. And NPS in the air to wage a chemical war offensive on them.

I almost wish I had them now .... almost.

.. Its a really creepy world at that level. I once saw a program on them, they said that there were so many types of lice living on people its unreal. There's a lice that lives only on peoples heads, a type of lice that lives on pubic hair, and a type that has evolved to live on human eye lashes. .. Each has specially adapted claws for holding onto that specific type of follicle.

Its bizarre to think mites have evolved to live on Canna plants. Thankfully they don;t like my climate too much ...yet.

i dont really think no pest strips are good for your indoor crop solely because they arent safe to be around. the active chemical Dichlorvos is bad for you and bad if it gets on your plants and theres no way to rinse it off. I have although used this in an outdoor crop around the perimeter of the garden and only put it up when the winds were dull (even though i still didnt trust the chemicals, it was worth it to not have the spider mites ) they worked great i just wanted to let you all know that it isn't necessarily good heres the link https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=122627

Mighty wash is good to use up till harvest. Dont know how bad of a mite problem you have but ive had great results with it. Spinosad too tho not sure how long before harvest you cant spray. We also previously mentioned the use of DE. Mix it with water and apply generously. As the water evaps you will have a layer of DE on your plant which dries up the exoskeleton of the bugs it contacts. All great choices imo... good luck!

Just put 3 of my snow white seeds in. Hopefully they'll pop quick. Gonna pick one for a mother. Anybody know of a certain pheno I should look for? Never grown her, but shes gonna feed my 2L sog. Smoked a test nug from my blue dream (tall bushy one) tonight. It was great! She had a mild fruit smoothy taste. Gonna be awesome smoke after a good cure.

To be honest I never have tried the habenero spray...since I grow from seed I haven't ever seen a spider mite (thank goodness). But I pushed that out for you simply because it's a natural remedy. The local nursery recommends it too for white fly infestations. I hate NPS and won't let them in my house. "Natural" is the only way for for me. I've used Einstein's Leaf Shine for white flies but it's pretty safe.

How many you shooting for in the SOG?

I can't speak of the SW but I'm sure you'll know the right pheno when you see it. Frosty and Big buds etc etc.

It would be a treat to see her in a 2L SOG  hope you post pics. :peace:

You've correctly identified the zones needed for SOG. .. Flower/Clone/Mom

For ages I couldn't decide if I wanted t go all out or not either. Theres a lot of initial work and other hurdles. ... I'm glad I did though. Because of the number of plants, I hesitate to encourage anyone into growing Ganja in this way, all I can say though is that its a lot fun and very easy too.

I have a 600w hps for flower. Have cfls for veg atm, hopefully soon I'll have the Mother Keepers kit from htg supply.

ah, so you have all the gear then. Rock on. lol

I have a small area I built for a mom. I bought a 4 shelf storage rack and the bottom section I wrapped in mylar and added cfls. I used it momentarily with my blackberry gal until I decided she wasn't what I was looking for. She survived fine until I threw her into flower. I can get by with that until I can afford the kit from htg. I'm eventually gonna dedicate a whole room to the hobby, just gotta start slow to acquire the funds.

Edit- also need to drink more pop. I only have 15-20 2L. That may be a decent number to start with. Not where I wanna be but very manageable. I've also decided to pop my Critical Hog bean. It was the one included in the xmas promo. Doesn't look to bad so I'm gonna give her a shot.

Have you done the sums on the HTG kit? is it a good deal? ..... Kits are often more expensive and you can pay a premium just for them putting the package together.

Personally, I always look at all the online shops and ebay. Sometimes a store has promotions and the deals available are great. Its definitely a BUYERS market.
