The COCO forum

Why isn't this called the COCO Coir forum? Or COCO/HEMPY forum?

Anyhow, it's about time. 3/4 of the venders at the cannabis farmers market here grow in coco, it's a huge under-served (on RIU forums) sector of hydroponics, and YES coco is hydroponics!!

Why would you want to re dry it?

He has a point. The first time I reconstituted a brick, I had 14 gallons of wet coco, but only needed four gallons so I had ten gallons left over sitting in a hefty bag. It sat for three weeks before I needed it again. I just ran 5ml per gallon of 35% h202 water through it before I used it again, just in case it had acquired any pythium. Fortunately COCO has anti-bacterial properties so the risk of getting pathogens is a lot less than with other forms of hydroponics.

No, the loose fibers you get are already reconstituted. Same thing as bricked coco. I know they add other stuff to certain brands, like perlite etc. It's all good!

Hey fellas just curious, I have mag-pro by dyna grow and realized it doesn't contain calcium its just magnesium and sulfur, does this mean I will need a calcium feed and go 1/2 mag 1/2 cal? I know the dyna beg n bloom have cal mag in em but also know that coco requires extra. Any suggestions are appreciated, and if possible id like to use up the mag pro

Dyna does has micro-nutes in the grow and bloom but with coco it may not be enough. I haven't used mag-pro or looked what's in it but I think you will be fine with it.

I think it will definitely be popular. I just started a COCO grow room and the growth rates I am getting are equal to my other two hydroponic rooms.
what style of hydro are your other two rooms? i have a huge bag of hydroton and a couple bags of canna coco but they have just sat for like a year and a half. i was going to do a 60/40 chow mix on a drip system, but just keep talking myself out of it because i was worried it was going to be way slower than dwc. are you saying you're getting equal growth rates in coco and hp aero?

The same 1 I use. Its fine no problems the first time I used it. I have to go back to the hydro store and pick up a couple more blocks. The store I go to now carries canna nutes and I thiink will start carrying the coco soon as well.

I reply to your other post! But coco pros being the ability to feed more during a light cycle than you can with
other mediums. Being able to do this aids in plant growth, also you will see a faster transplant time and roots
set in fast! Using coco has cut my veg time in half. Other factors are coco has a anti bactiral properties and
opens up what you can use to feed them on a more organic level.

All in all coco just plain rocks and i have run almost every type of way to grow.

Not that I have time now , but this thread needs to break down the different types of coco available as most are now only familiar with ground ready to go , or ground bailed coco . There is a huge difference in growing in the other types verses the ground ...

Most of the old notes online are based on fibrous blends often called birds nest coir and these are often far from applicable to what we commonly know as coco today .. Most of the myths about coco such as salt cont and ect are due to the pioneer days of coco growers .

I love Coco and have grown with it all and in every way possible , my favorite is Canna Coco as it is not sterilzed .. Been using Roots brands lately due to price and convenience ...........PotSnob
