2nd Plant Ever - Opinions

Hello

So I am running the following lights. All are Fluorescent and I will list their actual wattage.

CFL Spiral Bulbs
7 @ 55W 2700K
3 @ 42W 6400L
3 @ 23W 2700K
1 @ 23W 6400K

Tubes

1 23W vertical tube 5000K
I have been running 3 t5 23W tubes overhead at 6400K
I just switched two of the tubes to 10,000K to frost the buds as they finish

I keep all my lights no more than 1" from the outer edge of my plants at all times and I have lots of fans blowing any remaining hot air that may linger. I am using Fox Farms liquid trio and I am excited about the grow. This is my 2nd plant ever and I just kinda started doing this on a whim. I try to keep every bud site with at least one direct light within 1" and they all plump up great. I see lots of multi-bulb setups where all the light is overhead. I feel that with these CFLs you really have to surround the plant with light. I did some training with supercropping methods along with some string training. When I could not get a light to a bud, I would bring the bud to the light. The last 4 pics are the most recent. These photos are all from two weeks ago.

I am doing fairly well, the only thing that is giving my pause is that a lot of my buds don't have a lot of hairs coming out of them and some of the buds seem more like really tight leaf pods almost. They are all very heavy and very dense. I have a slight feeling of it being a hermie, but having never grown I don't know what that would look like.

Tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions I am open to them.

None of them look like hermies-- every strain of pot looks different-even some strains will have 2-3 different phenotype- or shapes/look when growing...

Just be sure you are feeding and watering properly and are keeping track of the days of flower for each plant- since they may not have all started budding at the same time....

Looks like harvest just around the corner... ;)

It is just one plant. I am thinking king of chopping all the big buds on the tops of each stem, then continuing to flower the smaller popcorn nugs. The ones that were more than 6" from the lights. Might even let those go real long to up the body high on those ones. My lady has a bad back and the couch lock helps her sleep.

So I looked at my biggest bud today under a microscopeand I just saw my first amber tric. Time for the big chop soon.

So I am noticing that I am still getting new growth from the tops of my buds. All of the hairs are still very white. I see that most of my trics are cloudy. How much longer should I wait? Should I allow the new growth to develop?

So I came home from work today and found that an earlier botched supercrop finally failed. I had put a small crack in the stem and it was doing fine for a very long time. But the bud finally got to heavy and was hanging on by a thread. No damage so I chopped it off, trimmed it up and hung it up to dry and will see how it turns out.

Pictures to follow shortly.

As a tip, for future things like that.. easiest to get 2 toothpicks and grafting tape.. make sure the plant is more than healed, then remove them.. imagine if that was mainstem early on in flower? Something you want to avoid, I'm sure.

I added some water with just a bit of sugar daddy from the recipe for success kit. I woke up this morning and all of the buds exploded with more new growth. Lots of white hairs keep popping up and the ends of the buds keep growing. I have one that is thicker than my wrist and I drool every time I look at it. They just keep getting bigger.

I ran some plain water and checked the runoff and it was very dark like tea so I decided to do a flush. I ran 3 gallons of water through until I had about 1400 PPM runoff with 5.5 PH runoff. I don't have a way to take pictures for a few weeks but I wish you could see them. I keep getting anxious to harvest, but I keep realizing that I just need to let the buds tell me when they are done. Can't rush the CFLs.

They are still getting bigger. More new growth and hairs popping out on the tops of my buds. The suspense is killing me.

Ok, so my plants have been in flower a very long time now. On the largest buds, the trichomes are all cloudy. But the tips of the buds are still sprouting new little white hairs. I don't want to harvest to early reducing the yield, but I also don't want to reduce the potency. I need help. Should I chop now or should I wait longer for more growth?

I am running nothing but water now in anticipation of harvest.

Also, it got really cold here and I left my fans on at night. It got really cold, probably 55-65 overnight for a few nights.

Ok, quick update. I have thus far harvested and dried 7 nugs for a total of 40.5 grams. I have 12 more nugs chopped and harvested and hanging to be weighed in 2-4 more days depending on weather. Plus, I am continuing to flower the very bottom buds for all of the buds I have chopped, probably 15-20 1-2 gram buds that I am going to move the lights in on and flower just a big longer. Overall I am very happy with the yield so far. I will get pics of the final product soon. My tablet was defective and I am waiting on the replacement.

I would have to say the biggest thing I learned was don't over water and keep the lights super close. I ended up with some burned tips here and there, but good fan placement will stop that right away. I also need a thermometer because I think it got too cold at night.

Lookin' good, cant wait to see the last of the pics! For CFL.. up close lights are a critical, agreed - over-watering is just as potentially problem causing too. Am glad to see you've taken some things from this grow to put into the next! +Rep for that :D

Thank you Figong. I found that with my low temperatures and overwatering, the centers of my very largest buds were very wet and kind of underdeveloped.
