Took some better pic's today for another site......just a "study" of 1 plant. It's the shortest in the room, probably the lightest yielder, but the healthiest, deepest green and prettiest. Rubbed the leaves and stems and the smell reminds of the old-time N.L. from long ago. It's reminds me more of the N.L.'s I've grown rather than the Maple Leafs Ind. Not sure that means anything though. After giving it some thought, my plan with these is to find the plant whose smoke I like the most- and reveg it in my next grow. This will give me time to get to know it and make an informed decision to clone her or not for future grows.

Neville? Is that really you? Maybe post some pics, in another thread you mentioned how old the Nevilles Haze parents were, you surely have clicked a pic sometime? If it is you I'm loving up on the Grail (thanks) if not, please pick a new name.

Its just misleading. As if I were to call myself shantisomthin and only post about strains shantibaba bred. Out of all the names possible he picked one that would lead others to think he is a world famous breeder. I've read a ton of stuff on the MrNice forum, I don't chime in there but can find plenty of info written by neville.

This person takes posts written by the real guy on another forum and posts them here under that persons name. People here clearly think they are talking to him. How is this different from claiming to be him? Don't you feel silly that you carried on a conversation with someone who was just copying and pasting another person's words in response to your own?

apparently there was an ortega clone, then a DP ortega strain using that clone
jim ortega aka dogless fits in somewhere as does neville and shanti and the maple leaf Wilson
seems complicated, hope its worth it

I have a small side closet, split into 2 halves. I put a 600 watter HPS on each side. So, these plants, started from seed, are under 1 600 watt bulb. Here's pic's of each side: Bubblelicious and Ortega- it's easy to pick which is which.
(The more green pic is...............................................................................................................................the bubblelicious).

No.....after a few thoughts about it- I realized it wasn't Nevil. I'M FIGURING THAT'S WHY HE SPELLED IT DIFFERENTLY. He never claimed he was Nevil- people can assume anything they want. Really though, what's the big deal? He listed some exact quotes from Nevil, and I'm happy to read them. I just don't understand the anger.......

The facts everyone agrees on is the parents were selected from old Nevil seeds from the 1980's. Shanti claims it's a N.L. #1 X N.L. #5 hybrid. Nevil states is really a cross of Maple Leaf Indica. There are many, many reports on it going hermie. Nevil claims the original plants came from Jim Ortega. Great smoke at the end.
I had an old pack from a year or two ago and never grew them because of the hermie issues. But, I finally decided to pop them before they got too old. I just wanted to smoke some real N.L. from way back.....not much more then that.
And D.P. said on another forum that their Ortega is not related to Shanti/Nevils Ortega.

If I took your name and the content you posted to another site and represented it as my own that wouldn't bother you? At the start of this thread you are asking him questions and he is copying and pasting someone else's answers in response. You are literally talking to yourself.
What this person is doing does't make me angry, it makes me sad. Because it is pathetic. So, if your idea of someone contributing to this site is someone stealing another person's work and ideas, and posting them as their own, by all means keep talking to this guy.

I'm now laughing at the thought you may be the same person. I also understood perfectly well about the spelling, YOU DIDN'T NEED TO YELL. It doesn't change a thing. The fact is many people were fooled, yourself included.
Well, yup, I was fooled at least temporarily until I thought about it more. I've actually talked with Nevil a few times, but it was many years ago when he was still operating the Castle. I pm'd THIS Nevil and he didn't respond, which told me it wasn't really him. But that's the internet.....you NEVER really know who is on the other end. And who knows, maybe every post made on here is just me and you with 25 accounts between us. Regarding his posting of others material......my feeling is it's his thread- he started it and he can do what he wants with it. I'm happy to add something to the conversation about Ortega, and at Mr. Nice and a few other places. I'm here to pass on info and be helpful, not stir the pot. But, stir away my friend, stir away......

Quick question: Do you feed your ladies some nitro after you pull the switch to flower? If so how long before you cut the nitro completely? Seems like your plants are always a nice and healthy green even during late flower. Whats the secret bro?

I just detailed this elsewhere too. Same thing came up. Here's my approach to it:
I want to try and keep my plants as green and healthy as long as I can well into flowering so they won't be stressed and can concentrate on resin production. I used to follow the general rule of thought and move on to bloom fertilizer as soon as I change the light back to 12/12. Problem was, many of my strains would go yellow WAY too early in flowering. Their overall health suffered and therefore resin production was off some. So here's what I do now and have for a few years: For the 1st two weeks of flowering, I continue using veg fertilizer with the high N. The plants still need a lot of it anyway and I've learned it has no impact on the "start of flowering". Then for weeks 3 and 4, I move on to a 50%/50% mix of veg/bloom. Then full bloom ferts until flushing, which I only do the last 10 days. Summary, this keeps them greener for longer and they are happier late into flowering. Again, I use Botanicare products and this works well for me. It might not work as well with some other brand, depending on the N-P-K amounts and ratios. Lastly, I also keep a bottle of Age Old Grow (12-6-6) if I want a quick organic "greener-upper"- this greens up my plants super fast. I don't use (or need) much, maybe 2-3 tablespoons per 15 gallons with my regular mix. I used it twice this crop.
This is my earliest of the 3 strains I have going now (Ortega, Blue Hash and Grape God) and these will be done in 2-2.5 weeks I'm guessing. Grape God next and Blue Hash last.

So, I snipped a small piece of Ortega tonight and put it in the dehydrator for about 4 hours, I just wanted to give it an early try at day 44 of flowering. The dehydrator burned off the taste and smell, but it dried it nicely. I put these nugs in the Roor, and took 1 rip. It's been about 10 minutes and I logged in.
It's felt mostly in the head right now, a bit of anxiety along with it but nothing unpleasant. This is very potent, VERY strong. I can't imagine this in 2 more weeks as the clear trichomes turn cloudy/amber. I could cut it right now and consider it a very nice sativa. My heart is racing, it's speedy. HA,HA......I haven't had a good sativa in a while..........
Off for another bong hit, about 20 minutes since the 1st one..........

Are you thinking that your plants are not going to finish in the advertised flowering time for this strain (6-8 weeks)?
