Global warming

I'm not the only person who drinks in my house, and my neighbor drinks some of it too.

My Daughter drinks about a case a month, My daughter's Boyfriend drinks about 3 beers a day as well as I do and my neighbor drinks about a case a month.

Right now I'm doing English Ales, IPAs, Stouts, Porters, Browns, Irish Reds.
Are you really worried they will put a carbon tax on you?

I live in a House that was built in the 1920's, I own 2 cars that are over 10 years old, I make a barrel of beer every 2 months, my dryer and cook stove are Natural Gas as well as my water heater and you ask if I worry about a Carbon tax?

I'm not like others here on this board who want no taxation, but a Carbon Tax is unjust... Besides Even if Global Warming were true, it isn't going to kill off me, my children or my grandchildren.... The total effects are not projected to be felt for another 1,000 years or more...

Me thinks you are in de-nile, a 1000 years from now, man may have evolved into a pig snouted built in gas mask creature, breathing a soup like mixture of carbon monoxide and human feces. Who knows? I wonder if they put a tax on carbon how high the price of gas will go.? I'm looking at 5.00 real soon, before Bush gets out of office, maybe. And yes, I'm blaming Bush for most of the price hike, it's a personal thing.

OK if man is responsible for the weather changes on this planet, why are there weather changes on Other planets like Mars, Jupiter, Pluto and one of the moons of Neptune?
Scientist have observed drastic weather changes on those planets as well.
Man can only be charged with maybe .5% of this changes in the weather at most, Part of it is cyclic in nature and another part is the fact that our own sun is burning it's self out. there are other factors that can cause this.
We had the Biggest tidal wave in history in the Indian Ocean, it could have tipped the Earth on it's axis.
You see it's too easy to blame man for natural occurrences.

You say tomato, I say tomato. I see this arguement as a dead issue. You either believe it's mans fault or you don't. So far I've seen plenty of info to make me believe the way I do, and I'm guessing you have the same situation. The irony is that most of the "scientists" that nay say mans involvement, have some connection to big business. Like that last post and General Motors showing up. Well Duh, general motors in collusion with big oil doesn't want to make 50-75 MPG cars. I think to not entertain the possibility of mans contribution to global warming is, well, crazy.

So you also ignore geological evidence as well...
I have a friend in El Paso who used to teach geology
at UTEP
and he says it's all bullshit and he hates the oil companies, he knows he could make large sums of money working for them and he refuses to.
This man says that there is plenty of geological evidence to point out that this has all happened before. When it happened in the past, man wasn't even in the picture.

Global Warming is a natural occurrence.

OK! That's your opinion, I get it. Mine's different.

Exactly!!! Good post Dank:mrgreen:. I think we should worry about pollution more than co2 emissions. Thats what we have plants for! Its a symbiotic relationship, they like us breathing and we like them transpiring/breathing.

If the gov't really was that concerned about co2 emissions ruining the whole planet than we would already be driving around in hydrogen powered cars. I know MM has read what I have posted about hydrogen, if you remember what I posted about hydrogen in a different thread you can see that the oil companies will soon go out of business(well, not out but you know what I mean) once hydrogen hit the market. Another "drawback",for the oil companies, to using hydrogen for fuel is that we would be able to make it in our own homes and only have to pay for the water and electricity(after we spend 200 dollars on the hydrogen generator).

You guys realize that in the past 24 years we have had either a Bush or Clinton in office? Reread my last sentance.

If everyone could save that much money on gas, do you know the potentials for our economy? Can you say instant BOOOOOOM? New jobs, keep the money in the country, everyone has more money in their pocket, the price of food would come down, etc etc etc.... You guys see the big picture right?

So we know that the Bush family has ties with oil, so why is it so hard to believe that they are using their monopoly to leach(suck) out as much as they can from our pockets before the American people realize that gasoline is a dirty and obsolete fuel and we have better cheaper alternatives. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the UNIVERSE, for a quick FYI! After we convert to hydrogen than the price of oil will plummet and the people that are living like kings will not be getting the CRAZY revenue that they once were. Thats why I believe we are paying 4 dollars a gallon now. Get us as much as they can so their children and grandchildren can live off of "old money" for the rest of their lives even after the price of oil hits the wall.

What do I know, though? I'm just a crazy conspiracy "theorist", that doesn't know his ass from elbow, right?

You misunderstand, Dank.

Vi, nor I, nor anyone for that matter, think that not paying any taxes is a good thing. Just not "new" taxes, especially if they are going toward funding increased social spending and programs. The solution would be to cut spending to increase profit not just wave the tax wand.

On the contrary, Dankster ... Taxes are a necessary evil. We have to pay taxes ... they are the cost of government. What I object to is the METHOD of collection. The federal income tax is a direct affront on our economic liberty and privacy. Why should American citizens living in "The Land of The Free" be compelled to turn over a financial confession to Caesar every April 15th? Don't you think a simple sales tax should suffice?

In a truly free society, it is none of the government's business how much money the citizen makes, how he/she makes it, or how he/she spends it ... as long as the rights of another are not violated in the process. If the rights of another ARE violated in the process, then we have police, courts and jails to take care of it ... and THAT'S a legitimate cost of government that I gladly pay taxes for.

Don't ask that question Dank:mrgreen:

If people do their research on it they will know that Al Gore is full of shyt and they will have to realize that the gov't is very capable of deceiving the public for their private agendas. Sorry, I just had to ask my 2 cents

I'm waiting for Meds answer too:mrgreen:

Look, I really don't know and I don't know if the scientists know that one either since they don't live there. Seems the industrial scientist could tell us that the temps on mars jupiter etc are going up and how could we challenge them. So put me in the I don't know category. Now as for here on this polluted piece of real estate named earth, It' is obvious to me, maybe not you, but me. Someday if you live that long it may be obvious to you also.

I don't want to start a piss contest here Med, but less than a month ago you were patronizing me for debunking Al Gores Global Warming. You were so adamant about it too, even though I proved to you that I have done my research and educated myself on the subject.

Its just a matter of time before the truth come out to everyone. The educated ones will accept the effulgence first(because they can understand logic) and then followed by the masses of sheeple that strive for acceptance. As you said a couple days ago(or yesterday) "one mans conspiracy theory is another mans truth."

I guess this is my "I told you so":mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
