watering in the morning or late afternoon?

An hour or 2 after lights on is the best time to water, but any time is fine. I've watered at all different times though and it doesn't make much of difference, but morning waterings allow the plant to drink up while their growing througout the day.

As others have said I water in the morning as this is where the plant starts it's daily activities of turning starch into sugars, or the other way around bit to fuzzy to remember.

Also watering in the morning is quite effective if you have humidity issues (too low during day or too high at night)

In summer do it late in the afternoon, if its done in the morning the hot temps can evaporate most of the water assuming you mean outdoor.

greenhouse grow, so kinda outdoor. But yeah, the drying up part was my issue. If I water during the day, it tends to dry up by the next morning. If I water at night, it tends to stay wet another 12-24 hours. I was just wondering if by feeding it at night the plant can drink more of the water and nutes before is starts to evaporate in the morning and throughout the day?

Let see in mother nature ive never seen a set time for her to let her rain wrath. She can rain at midnight, she can rain at near 9 o clock am. she can even rain at 6pm!!! So much over analyzation -_-

not really over analyzing. In the wild, they sometimes dont get water and die... doesnt mean I'm going to let them starve and die... Just wondering if it is better for the plant to get water at night or morning.

Correct but in the wild is also doesnt rain at 1 set time whenever mother nature decided to let her rain wrath. Just water when you think its time

my grow is pretty simple and basic... I dont trim, I dont use scrog or sog or anything else. I put the plant in good soil, give it water with decent nutes and let it do its thing..

See thats my point. Now thats what i mean about dont over analyze things. This plant is very hardy. When you think its time to water its time. If its not time your plant will show you she has had enough and you can go from there. Me personally i water my garden anywhere from 11am-7pm

I live in SoCal, it gets warm and drys it up pretty quick. I go by when it needs it, just curious if the plant could use more water depending on the time of day

I dont think I could get my soil soggy if I tried.. lol. With the sun and greenhouse, my soil tends to dry up every 24-36 hours...

Are you growing in pots? If so, after your last watering let it dry out for 4-5 days (depending on pot size, smaller=less) or till leaves start to droop, then feel the wieght of your pot, and remember the wieght, and water, whenever she feels lite, water/feed her...good luck

Yeah your in SoCal your weather is predictable so i dont think it truely matters when you water. However out in the heartland midwest weather is very umpredicatbale here

[*insert my (blumat) tensio meter speech here*]

Water when they want it, which is in the morning, about 30-90 minutes after lights go on (when they start drinking more again after sleeping). Never water before light goes off (unless soil is dried out). Plants don't drink nearly as much during the night, give it only when they need it to keep soil optimal.

I've measured and analyzed the shit out of it so I wholeheartedly disagree about the over analyzing. On the contrary, if you grow on soil with a PH meter, throw it away, get a blumat tensio meter instead... whether you are pro or beginner (over watering is one of the main causes of death for mj plants grown by beginners)... aahhh, see tensio meter speech above  ;)
