Realistically, we all want different things and have different expectations, just as men do. I believe there are some universals though and anyone feel free to add to my list.
Hygiene
I put this first because I think it the most important one. I don't care if you are good looking or not, if you are wearing dirty cloths and smell sweaty or off in anyway, we are not going to want to be with you.
~ Clothing should not have holes or stains.
~ Don't wear around ripped up dirty runners or ball hats.
~ Do get a few nice shirts with button up with collars and some nice jeans or casual pants and decent foot ware.
~ If you must have facial hair, keep in to a minimum and well groomed.
Heath
~ You must make some effort to be in shape, you don't need to be a body builder but if you look like a walking heart attack, you won't attract many people.
~ Do something physical on a regular basis, even if that is just walking or swimming, you will feel better and look better.
Teeth
Take good care of your teeth, (this one is hugh for me). Us females spend so much money to make our appearance better. We buy nice clothes, jewelery, make-up ect. Men don't have to put out quite as much but you do have to do a few things if you want to look appealing.
If your teeth are stained or missing, you need to spend some money and deal with them. Crest white strips will help bleach them but whitening toothpastes are a total scam.

~ Bragging ...ugh, not good at all. I feel when a guy had to convince me they are great, they are trying way too hard. If you do have an area you excel in, that great but better I discover it myself. You can mention what you do but don't tell me you are the best at it, let me find that out myself. It will make me respect you far more.
~ Treat other well because that will be a reflection upon us.
~ Use manner and be generous when you can be, that is super attractive.
~ Don't speak badly of other ex's, that will just show us we might be next in line for that sort of talk.
Get yourself out there
~ You need to contribute to society in some way, shape or form. If you can not work, do something like coach a little league team. Do some sort of volunteer, even if it's just once a month. You will likely be rewarded in ways you didn't expect. SPCA, community garden's, seniors centres, fish society's, community beautification projects, these will all put you in touch with positive people.
I am currently going though a divorce. I married a man who had most of the traits I listed. We are divorcing because I found he was cheating on me. I know why it happened and unfortunately , there is little I could have done to prevent it. Bottom line, I have always worked outside the home. He wanted to say home and do the child care. This worked for many years but as the kids got older and went to school, he had so much time on his hands but still refused to get a job or do anything else. He was around single moms all the time from my kids class and he loved the attention they paid him while i was at work....you can all figure the rest out. I'm not bitter but I am sad things turned out the way they did.
I hope this helps guys, I don't judge anyone for anything but some guys do miss the basics and these are them...much love fellas

Not saying that it applies to every man but generally no, that doesn't matter at all. Men do not cheat because they don't love their wife; they cheat because they can. All most men need is an opportunity; it's like a moth being drawn irresistibly to a flame. Think about smoking hot (and rich, famous, etc)Shania Twain is and how FUGLY her ex hubby was. The fool cheated on her with a woman that not even Finshaggy would bone - as desperate as he is. It does not make sense at all but that's the way men are wired.

Honestly, I begged him to find a job, he just wouldn't, so yes, I did see it coming. I couldn't force him to work, that's not possible. He still wants to get back together and I know he does love me but he still won't get a job or do anything else. I could have forgave him if he changed his pattern of behaviour but it's been a year now and I'm ready to move on.
Edit: oh, and yeah, the woman he was sleeping with is considered unattractive. She's quite overweight, loud and has an abrasive personality...but she was in front of him and leading him on. It was all about opportunity. I began to suspect him cheating with his change of behaviour. I never once snooped in my husbands phone but I did once I saw some evidence of him cheating. I took a look and it was all there, photos and all.

I have facial hair that is kept short but scruffy. Not groomed. I hate that shit. Too metro. I come home from work and put on tank tops or tee shirts that very well could have holes in them. I hate wearing clothes. I do have nice shoes though if DC shoes count.

Your example does not seem very relevant to the point about it not being because they don't love her. Maybe the guy cheated on Shania because he didn't love her, for some reason you simply talk about how rich and hot she is as if that must therefore mean he lopved her. Maybe he married her because she was flaming hot and rich and famous, and then later on realized that she was a power mad cow and fooled around with something he preferred.
So yes, i'm thinking about Shania Twain and her ex-hubby and completely failing to link it to the point you are trying to make.
