You wont need to add anything to subs supersoil.

i make my own mix. you guys dont live in canada so i dont bother promoting my netrients. i buy a super organic mix called gaia green powerbloom.

for those outside of canada, i recommend bat shita

i didn't check if they were all compatible due to tiredness but this gives you an idea of what you need.. also for vegetative growth you need cfl's in the 6500k spectrum of light and for flower you need 2700k spectrum. you can mix and match depending. but yeah. veg=blue-6500k flower=red-2700k

until you get proper lights. just a desklamp with a cfl will keep them alive for a week or so. although the sooner you get them all set up the better

Thanks for all the info yesterday guys. I am definitely going to Home Depot or Lowes or whatever today to grab some lighting.

I checked on the germination, hasn't been a full 24 hours yet, and I will display a picture. None of them opened but the bag around the wet cloth is greatly moisturized!

P.S. Half the Ziploc is open, btw.

that's how it should be! although idon't know if having it half open or sealed makes a difference. as long as it's warm and humid!

I, actually, bought the lighting you suggested. Ended up being cheaper than I thought.

Glad you are on the same boat as I am! Maybe we all can learn something together?

Also, Cloud, the seeds I have are random seeds collected, mostly from other growers. These were collected by someone else and given to me to experiment with so I have no idea if they are feminized or what but that's why I threw 3 of those bad bitches in there so I have a ratio of success.

Today I might see some sprouters, if anything around the evening time because that's when I threw the seeds in the towel yesterday, around 2 pm. My question is, WHAT DO I NEED READY FOR THE NEXT STEP?

I was thinking of going to a garden center and buying the grow disks to put inside traditional red 'party' cups. I'm fairly certain you just have to add water to expand the soil then plant the seedling? Immediately following this step do I then place a CFL desk lamp over this little guy and just wait?

Sorry, I am so new that I have anxiety about the next steps. I feel the same way when I am taking care of my daughters, all cautious like I don't want to mess up. They are fragile and beautiful, I want to see it healthy and strong.

Edit: I know I was talking about using SuperSoil and it is still a viable option but should I use a grow disk as a medium first then transplant into a pot when it's a little more mature?

No good grow shops in Ireland? What a shocker! Move from that primitive godforsaken place now! Go Galway! Peace

I am extremely new to this myself, but my friend and I just threw 4 of my seeds into regular soil he uses to grow his vegetables, and we had two sprout and are growing strong just like that. However, they do show signs of stress / lack of nutrients / maybe PH problems from leaf discoloration, I am not sure which exactly, but I am sure you can figure that out if you chose to go that route yourself.

Good book for beginners is Jorge Cevantes " The Complete Guide to Growing Medical Marijuana Indoors or Outside." It's on Amazon also and it is excellent. Buy it.

the method i went with was to plant the seed about a quarter inch deep, very very shallow, in a peat pot with your supersoil and then cover with a lil bit of soil. and hang a light over it by about 4 -6 inches. that way the bean will sprout in a day or 2 and after a week or so, due to the magic of the peat pot, the roots will actually grow through the peat pot. to which you can plant directly into your bigger pot without having to remove anything! it's stress free repotting for the little seedling.
