Can't get my Oil into Wax

For really 72 hours? Well, ill try tonight cause i gotta try to make the best of a goddamn pound of trim. Not alot to some but that was alot of the trim from my first crop :'( it stinnngggssss

yup. low heat- thin purges are a good way to make sure you DONT FUCK up your product!

and sometimes we are fortunate enough to do a pull in a few hours. and sometimes, shit takes dayssssssss, literally.


if it takes more than a few days in the vacuum, and dont really see any progress.
YOU EITHER

A) got not enough heat involved, a dry crusty something, that potentially needs more purging.
B) too much heat involved, and you have a sticky puddle, you pretty much never gonna
be careful. and dont rush. a lb of trim is a lot, and can yield a lot. you dont want a lot of failure now

if you didn't over heat, it only a matter of time till comb ImO, and I know some people say long purges are bad, but this is literally one of the best bathes iv made, taste just like flowers, no pop or sizzle, and it took 3 days....

I'm just mad about the vac time cause first time I ran an ounce (material-wise) I was done in 2-3 hours each time and now it's 6+ before i give. that's really the only issue I have time wise, just trying to find my mistakes. But, I'm gonna assume the trim is getting old cause I never go above 130. I appreciate all the help, guys. Should have come here sooner. I'm gonna do 2 1 ounce runs, last of my cheesequake trim. One came out very dark after its first no heat vac run. The other very golden styrofoam like. Hopefully golden styro combs up so I can close this chapter before next crop. I gave up on the shit cause I was always told after so long there will be some trapped in there. I kinda doubt that with these 72 hour purges. How do you guys feel about the trapped thing. I heard over-whipping traps tane too.

Missing the point... I did purge without heat for much longer. Point is: it purged for 15 minutes and went from golden styrofoam (which has always, for me, been a good way to end the no heat vacuum pulls) to a translucent shit mess. Next point I'm making, it only took me 2 hours to do a 1 ounce run and make perfect comb a month ago. Now I'm going on 6 hours, same material, same everything just the material is older. Making sure this is the issue and trying to find out how to save my trim. That's great that you can do this and that, bro but, that has nothing to do with anything I'm asking hahaha. Also this is a 1 OUNCE run not pound. And according to my calculations that only took me two hours last time. And furthermore on those 2 hour runs I only no heat purged for 15 minutes and 130/-29hg for next 1:45.

ive had oil runs sit in the chamber for over a week before (aiming for wax).. so 72 hours isnt that crazy. hell, that big muffin I posted a few pages back in guzias thread is STILL in the chamber and its been like 3 days..

Speaking of guzias, kind of blew up on him. Sorry, guzias. I've been running two 3 gram piles of cheesequake for about 8 hours now. Two different phenos, one of which is the same material I used to make the comb from the pic i posted earlier. I will just vac away I guess. Lol sorry again guzias but, I'm pullin my hair out and was a little harsh. I do appreciate the input

Yessir, I guess I just need to explain a bit better. When I was making the comb a month ago, the muffin stayed nice and golden yellow even when i took the vac pressure off and melted into a waxy colored pile with smaller purge bubbles. Now, as soon as I take the vac pressure off today, same material, the golden yellow color of the muffin disappears and i get translucent amber. Then when it melts it stays translucent and has large purging bubbles. I'm gonna keep going with this stuff and all. We shall see cause I don't think anyone is really sure what my problem is

The querkle pheno is still translucent garbage on the left there. The one on the right, the cheese pheno started thickening an hour ago and it dried out well enough to call done.

the one on the right has a nice redish color.

the reason that wax looks lighter is because of the bubbles once again.. theyre super thin and light is going through it easier than when its in 1 big glob.

look at my set of pictures on guzias' thread where I posted 6 or 7 pics in a row of a 15g batch muffining up... its brown when its a glob on the paper.. but as it muffins, it turns almost white.. just because its so many extremely thin layers.

same concept with water. thin layer looks white/clear... but the ocean or a pool looks blue/darker.

i can only help you out the best I can in first person explanation.

when i make my muffins, i get excited every time. they ALL look amazing, no matter what material i use, muffins are very deceptive..

sometimes, who knows what the major factor is (initial boil off? age/quality of material? karma/luck? skill?) . BUT, SOMETIMES, i get get my golden muffin to expand perfectly, and see gazilllions of perfect sized bubbles perfectly blow up. and when i release vac, i barely get a deflate, and within a few vacs presto, perfect muffin we all dream of...

that can be achieved with a few grams pull, to a 2 ounce pull..

now, MOST the time, when i try to get a muffin, it takes me 4 EVERRRRR.
Meaning: i put oil under near ful vac, get my very big translucent bubbles, (not nearly as perfect as a near muffins bubbles would look) and release vac, my big ass muffin deflates, and it basically starts to looks like shatter once it all settles at normal state..

"the golden yellow color of the muffin disappears and i get translucent amber." .. -the gold comes from the ultra stretched out material, once it all thickens up, you get your thick color of layers adding up.. you are being deceived

i hate all the damn time getting that muffin.

you see how the stuff on the right, looks like a puddle, compared to the stuff on the left?

if this is allll, no heat, (meaning you got rid of initial butane boil off no heat) i think you have a chance, just keep purging the one on the left no heat, folding back to center and repeating..

BUT, i may be wrong here..BY THE LOOKS OF IT, NO DESCRIPTION, it looks like you initially boiled off the tane maybe too hot. and the one on the right is getting by, thats why its edges are grainy, and its got a more crumble like edge, rather than a slick smooth goo edge like the one on the left....

this all be guess, and i hope im wrong, but is that one on the left just staying sticky? goo for life type of deal?

Sorry it's been so long. Gave it a break. I realized today that the oil in the pump may be spent. I'm a vac noobie and didn't realize when it's obvious that the butane and moisture collect in the oil. The things you wish you never had to tell people... But, the wax was remaining transparent because the butane was most likely popping right back into the pile if that makes any sense? I know it's dumb I didn't know shit about a vac pump before bho purging. The oil was way above minimumim but ill be changing often now. and I'm sorry again for any harsh words to either of you, not what sharing knowledge is about . Ill let you guys know how my concentrate future goes soon. I have alot of cheesequake coming down in 3 weeks so, more to work with. I just tripped the fuck out after I made 3 honeycomb cookies in a food saver container + hot water. Now I have a good chamber and shitty wax. Idk can't believe that was the issue I feel so ignorant :'(

I just tryd to make another batch, wont comb again, been in vac for like 5 days, this shit is frustrating ... I read that as the material degrades over time it is no longer in carbolic acid state(or somthink like that), and is more Likly to make a sap or buddar, and shatter and comb are almost impossible to make... so im chalkin it up to age of material, wish I could find the link again
