uk to follow US on legalisation?

not wanting to piss on anyones chips but is the UK likely to follow the US in regards to the new laws around pot? whats peoples thoughts? id like to think yes, but it seems the two countries alliance has diminished somewhat over recent years.

and also.. washington.. i always thought of it as a pretty conservative state bein the home of the capital and all, is that fair to say?

Dude, Washington DC (District of Columbia) is the Capital of the United States. It's a federal district, not a state. It's governed by the US Congress/Legislature. And is located on the EAST COAST. Washington (State) is on the WEST COAST.

Second, The US gets it's way, we're bullies and a falling empire. So, if we WANT other countries to follow our lead, we'll ask, try to threaten, try to force, and then isolate (and the country will be a lot nicer after we quit interfering with it. Like Ecuador, or Bolivia.)

First off im not from america and live in uk. but i can tell you they didnt legalize it in their capital they legalized it in washington, not the capital.

also this country is stupid and i feel the people have alot less they can do compared with america. I mean in america they voted for medical cannabis they got it then they voted for recreational use of cannabis and they got it.
LOL first of i dont believe the uk would ever hold a vote and even if they did and realised most of the uk wants to legalize i feel they wouldnt do anything.
In America i feel if enough people agree and its common sense then laws WILL change, whereas in the UK the way things are atm nothing will change, even if everyone was to vote and like 70% of the vote were in favor of legalizing and there were protests and everything i still dont see anything at all happening.

These morons make the laws and are near impossible to be changed, this country aint like america. Personally though seeing how illogical it is to keep weed illegal especially when they see how much money America will make i think it will be on the governments minds but like i said i dont think us UK citizens will have any say/influence on their decision. So eventually i think its possible but i think it will a long time yet.

They did a little test some years ago in Brixton it was decriminalised for a while lol
this was when it first became a class C drug, only lasted a few months from what i can remember

then they had the media scare stories about "skunk" causing schizophrenia
so they moved it back to a class B drug

at the moment its apparently possible to grow upto 9 plants if you have a medical condition and can prove you have tried other remedies
but only weed works for you, the court is only allowed to impose a fine, if any other sentence is given this is direct grounds for an appeal
this recent change is sentencing policy, no change in law, was apparently to ease the burden on the courts, they have too many weed cases to deal with already

i think it will take a long time yet, but as the older generations die off, the newer generations are more relaxed about weed and realise the link between weed and schizophrenia is just government propaganda
