I would start with a total of 600 ppms incudling water. I wouldn't push more than a thousand all thru flower.

Here's something I copy/ pasted from a thread a while back, but I don't know of anybody that worries about EC or PPM in soil.
Myself, I don't feed that way anymore.
I wait for my plants to show me they're hungry. then I feed.

GT is right...early flower is 800 to 1000 then increase it every week peaking at the highest your plant can take without burning. When you grow a new strain you're not familiar with it's best to get to around 1400 then increase it slowly by 50 ppm each time till you see the slightest little burn evidence on the leaves then back it off by 50 and you'll be maximizing the food strength they can take.

Mj that doesn't like high food doses can usually take up to 1200 to 1400 ppm max and some nute pigs in soil can take up to 2000ppm. All strains have their likes/dislikes.

At the end of flowering you should reduce the strenghth of feed every time till you get right down to your clearing/flushing stage.

Do things gradually. For example if it's a 9 week strain in flower you could go:
week 1: 1000
" " 2: 1200
" " 3: 1400
" " 4: 1600
" " 5: 1600
" " 6: 1400
" " 7: 1000
" " 8: 300
" " 9: 0

Your veg stage should also increase in strength up to the flowering stage.

Soil growing isn't hard to fix a burning problem if you are only increasing your strength slowly; especially if you have drain holes for flushing.

Please take that with a grain of salt. You must know your strain to push above 1200. I personally have never run anything indoors above 1200 and start to see tip burn and some fox tailing on some strains. Theres a lot of guys who stay below 1200. Just don't forget. Nute burn is heart breaking this late in the game.

Also Bacatare : I have a huge plant outside and two clones I took off of the huge plant and they are probally 15% of the size of the bigger plant (mother plant). These ppm levels are gonna be diffenrent since the mother plant is a lot bigger ?????? OR feed them the same % of nutes (start off at 1200) maybe and give the mother plant more water/nute mix ???

your well water is 900 ppm ? you sure your pen is right ? I've never got to use well water. Someone who does will have to help ya. That sounds way high but could be all minerals. When worrying about ppms I have only used tap 250 ppm and filtered 150 ppm .

TBH man, I can't help beyond that with a good concience.
Like I said, I don't bother with checking my soil, don't even PH my water any more.
I feed when my plants look hungry, and do just fine.
I'm not saying my results couldn't be better, but I don't have problems, so I'm just plugging along, trying something new every now and then to see what helps and what doesn't.

All so ppm's for outdoors is a little eccentric . start with half a recommended dose and move up. That's why I like out doors. ditch the PH and ppm pens and bottled nutes. the bottle should all so tell you how much a teaspoon in ppms is.

Try the river water ;) its probly better. A whole truck load of water is 60 bucks delivered where im at if you have a tank. Just kidding about the river water. It wouldnt be so bad if you could get a filter but i dunno if you could on the well set up you got. Good luck man. If all else fails collect rain water. :):):)

I've never noticed a label mentioning PPM's, and I don't see how they could, being as it is dependant on the water used.
I start feeding my plants anywhere after 22 days from sprout for about a month, need it or not, then I flip to "Show me you're hungry".
But, my methods are unorthodox.
I use MG soil, MG perlite, and until this grow, MG nutes also.

Damn that's a high PPM for well water out of the tap. I lived in GA , had a well and the water was never above 200 ppm. I live in CO now and have a well that's never over 180 PPM.

I also have an RO/DI unit that I ordered from PureWaterClub which I never use for growing since I use FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil as a medium. When I ordered the RO/DI system I was intent on doing an ebb n flow grow but never got around to it.

I've never had any issues with mine, I do use it for drinking. 900 PPM is high I think. Prices on their RO/DI units are cheap. They do come from China but they do work and they have the lowest prices around for cheap RO/DI units. There are a few people on here who have ordered from them and satisfied . I'd recommend getting one with 900 PPM levels.

If you're budget minded like me, you can get one as low as $60.00 free shipping and soil growers don't need the DI , just an RO unit will do.

However , I think the 3rd one down on this page is a good deal on price ($75.00) since it's rated at 150 GPD and has the DI added in >

I have tap water with a ppm of 175 but I would have to let it sit, just looking for the easiest method and I'm hearing this and that... TRying to figure it out

The label will tell you how many PPMs a teaspoon of solution will raise any given type of water. exmp 1 teaspoon of nutes = 300 ppm per gallon + 150 PPM water total 450 PPMs

TBH man, I think you're over thinking yourself.
I once PH'ed my tap to get a baseline, found it was 7.9, PH'ed it with White Distilled for about a month before I forgot, then another month later realized I wasn't PH'ing anymore, but didn't have any problems, and haven't looked back since.
