dude i used to have respect for them and defend them around thanksgiving about how they were slaughtered, but now actually meeting a couple of them, i come to find out they arn't the kinds of people i thought. they are more american than their own heritage, its sad but i pity them more then respect their culture.

Atleast you admit to judge a whole complex and varied group of people by a few.

To disrespect and belittle indigenous people of America is to denounce your own Americanism. When George Washington and his men were starving in Valley Forge it was Native Americans that fed and cared for him. The only tribe of the great 5 to take Americas side in the revolution. The same group of people that Ben Franklin sat with to gain insight on how to frame the government for the United States of America.

Assimilation has its toll even today and the mission " Kill the Indian and save the man " was instilled deeply upon all nations sad to say . With that said I am sure today while celebrating an old chiefs birthday that you would have gone home with a full belly and new friends for a lifetime . Most of the elders I sat with today went to boarding schools but yet they hold no animosity for the white man or the bible , nope they played bingo today in our language with children running around us of all colors :)

Silas, do not even get me started on the welfare state that the govt created by putting Natives in a box and giving them peanuts.

Beads and trinkets to be precise . Oh dont forget the flour and baking soda rations that had no use as the Govt intended , our women made dough and threw that shit in the fire on a rock , flipped it over and it was bread when the burned edges were peeled back and then the kettles of grease arrived and we had fry bread hahahah

I only wish to shine a light. To expose hidden truths. I'm not posting in anger. I can't change those whose eyes are clouded with bigotry. I can help brush off the dust to those that want to see.
Might as well shine light on the eagle holding the thirteen arrows , this was in reflection of the 7 nations of Iroquois and there 7 arrows

6 nations, but the tuscarora weren't added then I believe, they took shelter within the 5 nations government. Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, then came the Tuscarora due to getting kicked around down south a bit.

Thanks for the clarification Kinetic and a keen eye for history , I am a dual citizen based on tribal law and the 7 nations is candian while the 6 nations refers to the American side .. Easy common mistake ..

Makes me think about the time I went to a gathering on a reserve in Southern Ontario , before I could even get out of the car dude was like your not from the 6 Nations are you ? I ll send your ass downriver in a box if you are .. Lmao I then spoke Ojibway and all went well :)
