Weak, tasty strains?

So since I don't smoke much anymore I was wondering if some of you could recommend a strain that is really low in potency and still has good flavour?

I actually prefer the actual smoking of the weed than the high lol.

So yeah, any ideas are muchly appreciated!

Cheers

This is a first. There are very few low potency strains since everyone is seeking the most potent strain alive.

One thing you could do is find a high CBD strain. Alot of times they have very low th. Harlequin i think only have 8-12% thc and something like 1616 or 18% cbd. Im not sure on the taste of it but as for low cbd strains there arent many.

Also, if you knew someone with some cheap regs you could just grow some good flavored stuff and mix it in with a lil regs to keep the flavor but weaken it as well.

Then go low CBD, oldschool... My favourite 'easy' smoke is still hands down Buddha's Sister by Soma Seeds. Tart cherry candy flavour, it really is DELICIOUS. But I can smoke it alll day and fat blunts too if I want.

Beans are pricey though.

Pineapple Express from G-13 Labs. fruity delicious skunk flavor with a little variety between phenos, and it won't knock you down for the count. You can go a little heavy on it for a stronger effect, but you can smoke it, and get chores done all day. It'll veg real easy for you, and yields real nice in flower too. Might be a good one for you bro. There always seems to be the one weak pheno in a strain so you could always go that way too, looking for the weaker potency, but better tasting one of the bunch so to speak. That would definitely open up alot more possibilities I would think for you in the long run, IDK. Hope this helps some. Peace out.

EDIT: I just noticed your sig with the Kali Mist grow. That's not a low strength strain, LOL.

Seems like I've got a lot of growing to do haha. As it seems every strain effects people differently, so seems I gotta go 'shopping' for that right one.

Yeah that Kali Mist is strong but was very strange to grow. The bizzar thing was is that the day bofre harvest I kid you not, covered in Trics 80%+ milky. On day of chop no word of a lie they all went headless!!! I have about 5-10% heads on my smoke. Still, all in all it's just about perfect. Just looking for something with a bit more flavour and control over the outcome of the high.

Cheers man! Just gonna smoke some now and shake uncontrollably on the couch :)

I know one person really well that grows the Kali Mist, and another guy on R.I.U. who is a great person named GandalfdaGreen who also grows her, and I've never heard that before. That would definitely be dis-heartening to see all the trich's lose their heads like that though. What a real shot in the gut. I've been reading on trichomes, and terpenes, and all that lately trying to figure out the best medicine for me as far as cannabanoid profiles go. The only thing I know of that would do that is age, but it's weird it happened all at once though. Did you notice the trich head loss before or after you trimmed? IDK, kind of a weird thing for sure. Peace out.

It was after I trimmed. But still, within the buds themselves (which are quite airy, especially the bottom ones) are headless. I took a few samples about 3 weeks before and it sent you to the moon. With about 30% cloudy rest clear. Still, got me a taster of what true strain is capable of haha.

When the Trichromes are clear they have little to no THC in them they only contain it when they are milky and when amber they are just about past the peak THC level and start deteriorating, so in theory you could grow any strain but you'd have to harvest early, a longer veg time would still see you with the yields you are used to if you went down his route.

Yeah I was thinking that Kush. Although I'd use quite a bit of room and effort, which is my real concern.. Plus would the true flavour have time to develop?

I was thinking Malawi Gold. I've heard a few places that it's not too strong. Anyone tried this strain?

I don't know anything about Malawi gold but I only grow landrace sativas and love em but in general are low odor and because of that flavor isn't as strong either.....

also "When the Trichromes are clear they have little to no THC in them they only contain it when they are milky and when amber they are just about past the peak THC level and start deteriorating,"
that's not true at all....lol you should do some more research before posting blatant nonsense. There are 3 broad types of trichs they cover every inch of the plant they are constantly secreting cannabinoids the capitate stalked trichs are the ones normally seen on the flowers and are most potent but the whole plant secretes cannabinoids throughout the life cycle presumably as a defense mechanism for light...once the particular trichome is done producing it starts to turn cloudy and then amber as it degrades. As soon as they hit cloudy that trich will not produce anymore and is the only way to be certain maximum potency was reached.. I grow landrace sativas and specifically harvest when all clear so I can make the best colored hash with as little cbn as possible.. you can make hash out of a plant in veg. To say clear trichs don't contain high amounts of thc is absurd. Every trichome has a genetically predetermined ratio of cannabinoids it produces they just swell overtime thc ratio doesn't change

I have one running right now and just took a tester. Nice taste and a cool steady ringer.

It's not really low in potency, but some of the purple Killing Fields phenos have very functional highs and are super tasty (dark berry hash haze). I have seen people complain of them being weak, I wouldn't say that, but the thc profile is very much towards the thc side with no CBD and leads to an energising high without any drag down at all. Be warned though that the green phenos are super strong (in my experience).

Hey Ricky, I have a Sour Blueberry going now, and what a girl she is. She has a great sweet earthy smell now, and her flowers are just rock solid. I flipped her on 7/3, and she is just flowering away with some really nice girth to her already. I think she'll be a great plant for her flowers, and the concentrates should be nice too, as she's quite frosty already. I think i have to agree with the Qwizoking with the whole trich thing. Just because a plant has clear trich's does not mean it has no cannabanoids in them, or just precursors either. You can harvest plants very early, and still make concentrates, and get decent potency, so that alone is proof that they have cannabanoids in them. You have to get past your first or even fourth grow to go on your own empirical observations people. Trust in a good book for information in the beginning, and then go by your gut, you'll save yourself alot of headaches, and some embarassment as well. Sorry to kind of jack your thread Nutty Skunk. Peace and Love.

I thought about allowing the plant to over/under mature as well. The problem is that you also need the terpenes to develop and not degrade, that is where your smell and flavor come from. I also thought, what if you run it through a bubblebag to remove some of the trice, but you would have the same problem and would also probably dry it way out.

Thanks again guys for your help! Well I'm willing to sacrifice some flavour for a better high. I am a Sativa man at heart, I like to have a very clean high with no 'come down' as such.

@Bigby. Thanks man. I might look into that one. Ideally I wish I had a bigger tent so I could grow more strains to test them out!

@ mycomaster Don't worry mate. Anyone with factually information and a nice genuine attitude is more than welcome in my thread. Shame we focus more on the bad than the good, as most of the regulars here are awesome dudes.

Take it easy.

"Anyone with factually information and a nice genuine attitude is more than welcome in my thread." I'm not generally the latter, is that still cool?

"Shaman" by Dutch Passion. Thc is 8-13% and gives a nice, pleasant sativa high. Made me talk and talk till my wife couldn't handle it. Haha. I had one go triple purple on me (purple leaves, buds and ALL trichomes). The smell is a little different in the jar than what I've smelled before. Musty, almost moldy cheese smell. Also made me very happy and didn't give me the munchies at all, not even when vaped.

Would I grow it again? Well, I am germing some as we speak. :-)
