This is my first grow journal and the first time ive grown with a hid light so any advice is welcome. Im by no means an expert grower so please try to keep any criticism or negative comments to yourself.

Im growing with a 250w hid light mh for veg and hps for flowering.
My cabinet is roughly 29in wide 19 1/2in deep and 56 in tall its kinda small but its all I have to work with so im making due with what I have.
I have a 6in 400cfm inline duct fan as an exhaust along with a tower fan than stands about 27in tall I think thats all to list for now any questions feel free to ask now on to what we are really here for the plants themselves.

Ok so the plants ill be growing are all bagseed the strains they came from was
1x Purp
1x Lemon Kush
2x Spice... (no clue if its a real strain just what my buddy said it was)
Also ill be throwing in alot of random seeds from some mid just for the hell of it.

Ok so im 1 month in and here is what the lemon and purp is looking like ill have to post pics of the other's later
The lemon is at 27 days in these pics and the purp is at 25
The first 2 pics is the lemon followed up by the purp
So honestly at 1 month I thought they might be a lil bigger so I must be doing something wrong but not complaining they look healthy to me

Today when the lights turned on I decided to top the purp and start lst on the purp and lemon heres a few pictures along with pictures of the spice

Ok so picture 1 is spice 4 day 30. I accidentally topped it last week huge mistake but it seems to be pulling thru.

Picture 2 is spice 1 day 30. I dont plan on doing anything with this one as far as lst or topping just going to let it do its own thing.

Picture 3 is the lemon kush day 1 of lst and day 30 of its life cycle.

And finally picture 4 my fav of this grow purp. Its day 28 from seed and day one of lst also decided to top it to bring out more growth.

I also decided to flush out the nutes last night considering there a month old and haven't been flushed yet hopefully this will speed the growth back up. It seems the last week or so they haven't grown as much as normal and figure a flush couldnt hurt

I forgot to mention what nutes im using when I made this thread.
Im using the full botanicare pure blend pro line including
Pure blend pro grow
Pure blend pro bloom
Vitamino
Silica blast
Liquid karma
Cal mag+
Aquashield
Hydroplex
Sweet raw
And clearex (for flushing)

Yeah, sometimes the pic upload thing is a bit iffy.

They look nice. But your space is mighty small for four plants, especially when they get big (you want that, right? :-) ). My tent is larger, and with four plants I have to do a lot of "management" to make sure every branch gets its share of light.

I'm a big LST fan myself, but maybe you should look into running a SCROG.

Yes my space is small I originally wanted 6 plants in 2gallon pots but I would have to find a new location for my fan.
Here recently ive been thinking about doing 2 in 3 gallon dwc hydro system but since they are already in soil ill have to wait till next grow for all that.
Also they aren't feminized seeds so ill be eliminating the males and clonning the female (hopfully the purp).
Ive never done a scrog before so ill have to look into that and do some research

Hey mate. Love to watch a fellow 250 grower. Some advice would be to get a fan and have it blow right between the light and plant tops. Keep the light as close as you can (I keep mine at 4-6") and use lot's of LST to keep the canopy level. I love to use a screen for training and it really helps to maximize light coverage. Subbed up

Thanks im glad to have you aboard. My light is currently 7in above the tallest plant I was trying to get it down to 5 but was having heat issues also had to turn my ballast down to 75%. What do you mean by screen for training? All I can think of is a net for scrog but would hate to misunderstand amd do something completely different lol

Exactly that, a scrog screen for training. My avi pic is a 3 plant scrog with individual screens for each bucket. You can really see how level the canopy stays when you train them under the screen. The first link in my sig has a pretty good rundown of a scrog grow with lots of pics for reference. ATB mate.

Deficiencies are so hard to diagnose. Do you use a Cal/Mag supplement? Also what ph do you feed at and what ph is your runoff. They appear to show some signs of overwatering, the LK and purp especially. How often do you water, and what do you use to determine when to water? If you're using soil ph should be around 6.0-6.8. Higher ph can lock out N early in veg if you're not careful.

A good technique is to water your girls and then lift the pots to find how much a full pot weighs. Then lift the pots to check and when they feel nice and light it's time to water again. You can also do the scratch test. Take your finger and dig down 2in into the soil, if it feels really wet hold off a couple days. It is important to let your growing medium dry out and allow air to enter the root zone.

I do use a cal-mag supplement but I just flushed 3 days ago that also might be where the over watering came into place. Normally I try to let em dry most of the way out before watering them again I guess ill have to be alot more careful and let the soil dry all the way this time. As far as ph lvls as long as it falls between 6.3-6.8 I dont mess with it but I think im going to start watering with a strict 6.5. Ive never checked ph on the runoff ill be sure to do that next watering ive been thinking about doing it anyways.

They seem to be drinking slower to might just be me being impatient though I flushed 3 days ago and the top of the soil is barely starting to dry out.

I also went and checked out your 3plant scrog that you recommended me to take a look at and you have me sold that harvest was amazing hope mine is half as good as far as weight

Well its been a few days since an update figured id go ahead ans post some pic's of what little new growth they have.
Also all my babies except the purp are running low on nitrogen but unfortunately I can't feed em any nutes yet because I overwatered the last flush and im still waiting for the soil to dry up some more. However I did mix up a very mild foliar spray to hopefully satisfies them until I am able to feed again

Purp day 33. Im seeing alot of new growth as far as new tops coming into play
Purp day 33.jpg

Lemon kush day 35. Did some more lst on it today hopfully I will get to train it all the way around the pot
