Mixed Coco Hempy Indoor / Outdoor Autos & Regs

Saturday - Day 67 for the Bay 11, the last 3 come down, one could have used another couple of days, but the wife has guests coming next weekend so I need to get it dried and in jars before then. There is a distinct odor in the house right now.
Last couple standing followed by a booty shot after 2 days of drying
After cleaning new clones & the spouts, the 3.5gal is the Maui-Wowie. I'm going to veg for at least a wk under the big light to let the roots hit the rez. Since I'm vegging under the big light I running the 12+1 light cycle, save some money and reduce heat. This run I went back to my old mix of CRF's. The previous run of Bay 11 was straight Osmocote plus. This run it's mostly Osmocote 14-14-14. For a 2gal bucket I used 2 tsp's of OC+ and 3 tbsp OC 14-14-14

Autos Day 40, They seem to be making good progress, my solo cup is showing signs of not getting enough food, but I'm feeding at the same strength as the 2gal girls. Just probably not enough room for the roots. I've never tried to grow out in a cup before, not sure what to expect.
Tried a little cannabis sex on Sunday. The big healthy PE is the mother the father is a Hawaiian "90 day wonder" Which is not an Auto as most of us know, but is a direct decent of Canada's Mighty Mite. I cut a cardboard divider and sprayed one side to try and catch any stray floating pollen, hopefully it helped and I didn't seed up all three.

they are doing very nice, especially for their age, I hope we get a sunny autumn to finish them up nice
....I sure hope you didn't get all 3 pregnant as your cardboard protection may have been somewhat lacking

Thanks ISK, the cardboard is worst than a broken rubber, but I didn't want to do the construction necessary to move the one bucket.
To be honest I don't really care too much if I get a some seed in the others. The only seed I'll keep is from the target which is much stronger than the others.
Back in the mid 80's, I worked with a grower to build some seed stock. We did very well with shop lights during the winter in a trailer working to get that purple male, which we did. I tried to pop some of those seeds a few yrs back, but I didn't store them well, too many freeze thaw cycles. Couldn't get any to germinate.

Very cool Watt. Will the offspring all be autoflowers or could some display regular photoperiod traits?

That's very hard to say, the PE definitely has ruderalis in it. But the 90 Day Wonder from what I've been told about the history started in the early 80's in Hawaii, someone brought over Might Mite and started crosses with some local sativa strains. The result is a plant that will finish in 90day anytime of the yr. Green Harvest choppers would do complete searches on a rotation that would take 4 months. Hence the 90 Day Wonder could be planted right after a chopper sweep of the area and be harvested prior to the next sweep.
Anyways the PE finishes in 80days the other in 90 so I would expect the kids to finish somewhere in this range. And hopefully it will be a little less finicky than the Auto.
Here's what I've found about Mighty Mite (this is the article I pulled the following paragraph from)
During this time Canadian growers on British Columbia's Gulf Islands also experimented with early maturing outdoor varieties. They noticed that some plants always seemed to flower much earlier than the rest and they started exploring those seeds lines in search of good plants. This eventually gave birth to the Mighty Mite strain that has now become famous for its extremely early, if not autoflowering abilities. There is wide speculation on whether Mighty Mite actually contains ruderalis genes. One thing is for certain– it is one of the earliest outdoor plants that can be found. The Mighty Mite has since spread to both indoor and outdoor grows where it has been hybridized countless times in order to create early maturing but potent varieties including Guerilla Gold. It is sometimes difficult to draw a line between extremely early "Semi-Auto" and fully autoflowering plants because they can be seemingly similar in behaviour although they might have totally different pedigree. Perhaps there should be some distinction between the two, where one is classified as autoflowering based on genetic criteria and the other is considered a normal but early maturing plant that has acclimatized to the colder, northern environment. Some of these strains date back as much as thirty years, meaning that the plants have had time to grow accustomed to the local environment and thereby developed traits that ensure their survival. Coincidentally, many of these strains are pure or sativa dominant which would, in an indirect way, support the theory that cannabis ruderalis stems from that side of the family tree. These plants are not autoflowering per se, but so early that it can be difficult to spot any difference.

very interesting, I like this idea of a semi-auto, especially for outdoor grows where the fall months can be less than ideal....yup, them islanders sure know how to grow pot

Nice backstory on the 90 Day Wonder and Mighty Mite Watt. If their has been one benefit to criminalizing cannabis it's the ingenuity and experimentation it's resulted in.

Ohhh...Big ass spears doesn't cut it on this occasion, those are Kong Dongs my friends (nice color too). This is what we grow for....when I think of the story of how you found the Bay11 rep at the first Cannabis cup in US history, the shots fired, and the final produce drying up, it kind-of makes me want to tell my grandchildren the story....it's just not my experience dammit.

Evening all, I didn't run away just been entertaining the son and grandson since friday. I got everything jarred several days back. I've been reading up on curing of tobacco, and cannabis. And everything I've read points to curing at a higher moisture level than I normally do. Long term storage of fine cigars is in the 55-58% area. And with cannabis I've seen many different levels but most are over 50%. I'm shooting for 62% this cure. Due to the size of the bay 11 spears, I bought some new 1/2gal wide mouth jars. You can easily fit 9" segment in them.

hey Watts...long term or short term storage of fine or cheap cigars would be considered as 70-72% RH but most prefer somewhere between 62 - 68% RH (personal preference)

I have heard of a few that store at 60% but anything lower would be non-conventional. Temp is critical because of tobacco beetles which can hatch at about 70F.....this is not a concern for MJ.
I store my cigars at 65% and my mason jars at 62% but this is more or less as it's not easy to maintain an exact RH and/or temp

I keep my humidor as close to 65%, just because of my geographical location and normal O.A. humidity. I keep it like Indoor Sun King said, in and around 60 for the MJ storage.
