I think it also depends on how much yield you want... The more yield per plant the longer you will want to veg it. Otherwise very strain dependent. For small yield but quick, choose a quick flowering strain (7 weeks) and I'd say 24/0 then shift slowly into 12/12 once a decent canopy develops or after it naturally shows sex some say to prevent hermie's (I'm still new).


13/11 (on/off) you could increase the yield a bit if the strain works with it. I've never tried.

Looking at around ~ 4 weeks veg from seed and least I've seen is 7 weeks flower.

To induce your plants you can use a method called sea of green. After you germinate your seeds you put them under 24 hours of light until your plants grow to about 1 to 2 feet tall then switch your lighting to 12/12. Soon qfter that you should be able to sex your plants and pull the males.

You're right...fuck off with the bitchiness people. That is what I thought this forum was for. So the experienced can advise the new with positive feedback and answers. WTF waste your time tapping in smart ass answers. Isn't that what the people who are supposed to be pros do for the newbs. Teach!! Not criticize and abuse. I am a first time grower in Washington state. I planted a Purple Train Wreck (clone) that was about 3" tall on May 13th and harvested today and yesterday. Beautiful yield. I grew outside in a large tub. I broke a stem at about 6 weeks and decided to try to clone it. Oh my gosh....it worked. This plant is producing even larger buds and looks like it will be ready in another week or 2. I also planted a Chernoble, White Widow and a 3rd Demension all within the month of May. It looks like the 3rd dimension is real close, 3rd dimension a few weeks off and that white widow is plumping up every day. So for me all in all about 51/2 to 6 months. I think it depends on weather alloy when you are outdoors. I was lucky enough to side step the molds or mildews you have to watch for in high humidity states. Remember "its a weed" We allow this growth process to seem larger then it really is. It's just like growing a garden. Plant, water, keep an eye out for bad bugs or molds and nurture it. By the way, my MJ has no additives but water, and 2 spritz's of a garden vegetable mite control when they were young and tender. I topped off the soil when the soil washes down. I pinched them back to keep the height down, and trimmed fan leafs as needed. The big part of the work is the harvest it looks like. But that is so rewarding I don't notice. Especially as you trim and reveal a 41/2 bud. OMG, who would have guessed. Me...the 1st timer. You can do it too. Can't wait til it's dry. It smells delicious.

i didn't know a t8 would produce bud... High output T5's are great for veggin up to 2 plants in my opinion. The 4 foot 4 bulb ones. Then it's straight to the old ball and chain setup for flowering (i've vegged under both t5 and mh) always flower under hps
