you are very funny.. can u picture this in your head if i had 1 plant under 1 1000hps and i yielded 1lb of dried cannabis - as is what u are claiming...... that plant would have to have to b 1-2metres high and 5x5 ft wide- that is one plant how are the other 4 same size plants going to recieve light???????

a HID light puts down a "foot print". this foot print is only so deep. depending on the wattage of the light. the foot print for a 1000 watt may be about 2 feet deep. meaning it will penetrate 2 feet into your canopy and produce decent buds. this depth i am giving is a guess. the foot print also will only cover a certain amount of square footage.
so if you have a foot print 4 feet by 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep, whatever you can squeeze in that area is what you will yield. it can be 1 huge plant tied and trained. or it can be 100 small clones. whatever it is, you will only yield what the light can grow within it's "foot print".

I hate to say it, but if you don't succeed with this it is a direct fault of your own. Responsibility lies directly on you. This is your first grow and it is good to look at success, but it is your first and you may not get what you want.
The reason it won't work under the same light is because your plants need to grow and they will branch out making there coverage area bigger. In order to have enough room 1 light won't cover your total area.
