Buy auto insurance?

I am a good driver. Why do I need car insurance. The mandate that the state force me to have auto insurance is insane.

I think they changed it kinda recently. Within the last few years I think.
the info i found cnp'ed below says you don't still don't need auto insurance in wisconsin, but you do need $60k bond to prove that you can pay in case of an accident, same deal as california.. new hampshire is the only state that doesn't require auto insurance and no proof that you can pay in the case of an accident..

New Hampshire
New Hampshire is the only state that doesn’t ask for any proof of financial responsibility. If you cause an accident and don’t have Liability coverage, your driver’s license will be suspended or revoked if you cannot cover the damages of the other parties.
You will also be required to get an insurance policy in any of the following scenarios:
you were found at-fault in a traffic accident;
you have been caught driving under the influence of alcohol, regardless of the BAC (a concentration of over 0.8% will result in harsher penalties and a SR22 requirement for at least three years);
you have committed a serious traffic violation that requires a judge to review your driving record.
California
California is a bit loose on its policies. Even though an insurance policy isn’t required per se, drivers have to provide proof of financial responsibility. The state has ruled that all drivers must be able to cover a minimum of $30,000 in personal injuries to parties affected in a car accident, as well as $5,000 in property damage (a 15/30/5 ratio). Drivers are, however, allowed to choose between acquiring an insurance policy and placing a deposit of $35,000 with the Californian DMV.
Wisconsin
Much like California, Wisconsin allows its residents to either buy Liability coverage or place a deposit of $60,000 (or file a bond of the same value) with the local Department of Transportation.

Because its' someone else's well being that they are requiring you to insure, not your own.
Isnt that what Obamacare does?

I mean why would someone who thinks they may have TB, the clap or some other contagious disease go see a doctor if they have no way of paying for it?

If a driver can provide secured financial compensation equal to that of the states required liability, then that person should be exempt from said liability insurance laws.

If not, get out the Huffy and start pumpin.

Obamacare requires you to insure yourself from yourself. Liability insurance is protecting others from you.

Well then people who can post a 60k for medically necessary procedures should be exempt from Obamacare mandates as well.

Everyone should be exempt from Obamacare, and the government should have to compete for business, like every other insurance company in this country.

So what if a person who doesnt have insurance or the money to see a doctor lets his epiliepsy go untreated and ends up driving a school bus full of kids into a preschool?

Will the Liability insurance replace the dead kids?
