mine have mostly allwayz had some Purple stems
has your yield suffered any from the purple stems? I am on my second grow and i have learned how to minimize purpling but i cant get rid of it all together. My first grow yield suffered, but it wasnt from purpling, there were a whole lot of other issues. This grow the plants look great except for a few purple stems. I want to know if my flowering with be strong despite the purpling. Keep in mind that im almost positive that this isnt a purple strain. I will be flowering under 1000w HPS. check my grow journal out if you need to.

A slight purple tint could mean the beginning of a phosphorous deficiency so give them a little extra (not to much...) phosphorous and see if that doesn't help.

The purple/red tint on the stems is really just a sign of stress. It is a very common thing with all cannabis plants. And the purple tint for the purple based strains start to show up during mid flowering, so until then just chalk it up to some sort of stress that the plant is going through. Actually, I think the reddening of the leaves and stems for some strains like sweet tooth #9 is really cool to see (even more so than purple).

so i just found out that the blue satellite im growing is definitely a purple strain. It says that it gets purple stems early in its cycle and gets purple leaves later on in life. So that explains the prob ive been having with my grow.

Check out my journal to see pics

ive been told purple stems can mean that the plant is not feeding sufficiently, it may not show a burn or deficiency on its leaves. kind of like your face blueing up after choking/lack of oxygen.
