Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun. Maybe we need a Kennedy Control bill.

This argument is silly on all accounts. But let's look at this in generic terms, of gun control and vehicle control. In some states, anyone with a pulse and over the age of 18 and go into a store and purchase a firearm and use it that same day without breaking any law. They could even, and sometimes do, go and shoot someone in the dick or face. In no state can you someone purchase a vehicle and drive off the parking lot the same day without a license and car insurance, both forms of documentation somewhat insuring that the person is responsible, and will likely not go off and drive over someone's dick or face.

Where is this true that you can walk in to a store and buy a gun in 3 minutes? Where I'm from its background checks, waiting periods, and approval/denial from the local police chief in some instances.

Mental health and developmental professionals wanted the State of California out of the buisness of caring for the mentally ill. So acting on their recommendations, the state of California's government (state legislature) gave it to them.

I don't know about that. Back then I witnessed my youngest brother attacked by a recently released patient. actually, that bill, which 90% or more of americans supported, was put forth by toomey (R-PA) and manchin (D-WV).

toomey (R-PA) saw his poll numbers surge in the positive direction.

ayotte (R-NH) opposed the bill and saw her poll numbers plummet.
