Shouldn't people be mad at A&E? They put him on hiatus. If the executives there didn't think there was anything wrong with what he said, they wouldn't have cancelled him. Instead of blaming some vague leftist conspiracy, doesn't the fault ultimately lie with A&E? They could have easily backed him up with something to the effect of "Phil's viewpoints do not reflect our own and we do not endorse them." Clearly the executives, did have a problem with what he said, and therefore acted accordingly. Blame the network IMO.
He's an employee, and therefor subject to the contract and whims of his employer. Would all the same people defending him defend a man fired from a Catholic school for supporting gay rights? No, everyone would say its cut and dry, he broke the contract, and should be fired. How is this different? What major media tv station do you see today actively trying ostracize minority groups? Pretty much any cable network is gonna do the same.
Also, who the fuck cares what this guy thinks? Oh wow you sold some duck calls and now have a trashy scripted reality tv show like the Kardashians, I'm totally going to look up to you for advice. America and its retarded cult of celebrity I guess.
