Ok this will only work if ur strain carries the trait... ok alll you have to do is directly after cutting buds just stick them in fridge over night and when u look tommarow
.... purple ... idk how well this works but people swear by it. personly i don't think purple makes it better.

i too keep buds in the fridge, but that is when they are dried cured and jarred.

are you saying to put freshly harvested buds in the fridge? if so i'm calling you out.

it doesn't matter how clean the fridge is, if you put wet buds in there they are gonna stay wet, the longer they stay wet the more chance of mould

when its cold like in the fall plants absorb less p which is why leaves turn colors during that season thats why u can freeze ur grow at the end to turn it purple and u will have ur weed turn shitty and purple

We put things the fridge to inhibit mold and preserve fresh produce. Nothing is going to mold if you put them in there overnight, pull them out and dry them as you usually would.

If your putting shit in your fridge and pulling it out with mold that is a personal problem.

^ Oh yeah, put some strawberries in your fridge and come back in a couple weeks and see if their isnt mold growing on them.

this has got to be one of the silliest things ive ever herd of! ..pseudo cannabis science at its finest... I know if the plant has the capability of producing purples then just grow it in a cooler environment for the pigment to be forced through.... any one got an evidence this fridge nonsense even works???? sounds too stupid to be true to me

Almost every variety I have tested will turn purple in the cold eventually but it takes time and comes at the cost of yield. The only decent variety I have come across with deep purple calyxs so far is TGA Ace of Spades. 5 beans 3 females 1 purple.

Cold temps lock out phosphorous, that's where the purple comes from. Which statement are you asking if it even works, the fridge deal or taking temps down in flower?

Bc taking the temps down in a grow will absolutely draw out the purples. Seeing as how phosphorous is the highest percentage in flower nutes... Its definitely more for looks and to make it easier to take money from the kinder(gardeners)

A few mentioned purple = shitty buds LOL they just ain't had a good purple strain. It's true that a lot of true purple plants are lower in the THC spectrum but there are some solid purps out there. Purp Urkle floating around here tests around 15-16% but it's awesome goodnight weed, super stoney. Black Cherry Soda tests 16%+ almost every time and its tasty as shit too (ask anyone who's smoked the AoS or Plushberry BCS pheno).

Only safe and more productive way to enhance purpling is cold water flush (for the whole flush) and dropping your night temps to around 66 or even a bit lower, but why would you fuck with temps unless you're growing an only purple grow??

i want to see some before and after pics of your/these fridge buds hahaha.. and according to clarke its not just a k deficiency its a accumulation of anothycin and most cannabis plants are actually purple "apparently" its just the green of the chlorophyll that hides the plants true pigments..

So in conclusion id say if your plant had the genetic ability to produce anothycin and if the temps are cool enough then you are likely to get a purple calyxes/leaves
however putting freshly cut buds in a jar in the fridge (or the whole plant as ive seen mentioned).. people must have a big fridge!) haha.... will do nothing but give you mold... slowed growth or an unhappy plant
IN MY OPINION

Either way why are people so desperate, desperate enough to force for purples....is it just bag appeal.....i hear people say the purps are a bit spicier tasting

on the subject of temperatures I keep my room at 80F at the highest and at night it sometimes drops to 59F at its lowest I have not ran into any production problems yet but I usually work with strains that do better in colder climates.

interesting ^ have you done any yield comparisons to prove this is the case i.e. tried raising night temps and seeing if there was any... if even a slight improvement to of overall yield??.
interested in this as my run is currently suffering from cold night temps and wondered how it would effect my yield if at all

Usually indicas don't do as well in the cold but sativas are unaffected in fact if you water as soon as the lights come on in the morning it makes a difference. You don't want super wet soil in cold temps roots no likey cold wa-wa. I keep the fans off two hours prior to lights out and that way the room only gets to 80F and if it is sealed up it will hold through the night and only drop to like 65F or so

Roor, I've read that (I might be ten degrees off here, it might be 50 but I swear it was->) @ 60° f plants basically slow growth to a nothing. So if your night time temps get that low then it might be (probably) slowing your growth a little, and if it is then I'm sure it could affect yield.

And DocOck, first of all spider man is a fellow avenger so leave him alone, so sayeth the son of Odin. Secondly are you sure its indica's that handle cold temps worse? Bc I thought desert strains like Afghan kush could handle them bc the desert gets so cold at night. My last run (first run) had fairly cold night time flower temps (63-68) and my bubba kush did AMAZING. I thought Sativa's evolved to a more tropical environment. I could be wrong here

Lol key word WEEKS. Unless your going to freeze something dont keep it for weeks. Put anything in your fridge for weeks and it could mold.

I specifically said overnight, that mean 12 hours or less. Which does not equal weeks.

Derp?
