Best and Worst Strains of 2013

Hi Everyone,
I started this thread so we could compile a list of winners and losers for 2013.
List the best new release from 2013 and the worst.
This is not a thread for breeder bashing, just your own personal experiences.

I will start with the Boss Hogg.

I included it in 2013, although I received it as a freebie in the Tudes 2012 Christmas Bash. It wasn't available for sale until 2013, so I am putting it in.

I also was impressed with Loud Seeds 7/8 Sour. It was a great diesel smoke and really surprised me.

I am nine weeks in on Alphakronik Genes Sin City Kush and it is a frosty beast!

Anyhow.... I don't have any worst new strains yet, can't wait to see what everyone else's experiences were like.

Let's fill up a list and start a new one for next year!

It'll be no surprise to anyone that has read my posts that I really really really like Kannabia Seeds "Mataro Blue". Any plant that gives me almost a 1/2 lb of really great weed that has a nice long-lasting indica buzz is on my "highly recommended" list.

As far as my shit-list.......I've had nothing but disappointment from anything Royal Queen Seeds....Ice, and any of their auto's.

Blue Aliens by Green Beanz (Dj Short Blueberry (sativa) x Alien Kush F2) amazing line, have not grown her myself but know a few that have, great smoke.

Gorilla Biscuit by Seeds of Compassion (old school Sensi Star x Tres Sister) I grow the old school Sensi Star, from talking to 4D of SoC pretty much the same pheno, if you find that pheno (turpentine) with some more growth added from the Chems you'll be pulling pounds of goodness.


Only bad experience I had this year was with a new Old school Mr Nice (G13 x HP) popped 5 2 months ago... 0/5 germ... I'm afraid to pop the other 5 for fear of disappointment.

Disappointments: everything herijuana. How it ever got the hype of 'devastating' smoke is beyond me.

Favorite smoke of the year: from out of nowhere, and with little expectations, 3rd bean of Cheese Dom [Freedom of Seeds] is the best combination of delicious taste and excellent stone this year. I put everything else aside for the most part until that was finished, and reloaded on the CHristmas promo. Silly me....cloning everything heri [Extrema, heri, williams wonder/ heri, ronnie james dio], but not the Cheese Dom. Lesson learned.

Kinda worries me. I have three Williams Wonder x Herrijuana crosses 5 weeks in flower now. The structure and bud formation look great. Not much smell though. Just a grassy, piney smell.

Mine came from Meduser. Got 2 of 3 female, one was tall and stretchy, the other short. They both looked like they were going to be awesome; very frosty. I took these for the 'frostiest strain' thread, but they came out a little blurry, and the smoke never rose to the level of above average - the short one was the best:




As you said....'grassy, pine smelling'. I hate that smell and taste, but would find a way to work through it if the smoke was killer, as suggested. It's not bad, but not killer, and certainly not close to the rep [ of either strain, actually ].

I love their Special Queen and Special Kush. Have a Dance World from RQS going right now, and it seems to be doing well. Have been wanting to try a couple of their Auto's, but may just hold off now.

My disappointments have been OGK from RP, just kicked her out after turning inton a lady boy with 3 weeks left. Critical Hogg also was a ladyboy.

Been happy with? Anything Bodhi, which is practically all my garden.

Also pretty happy with a WOS Afghan kush special, but she isn't finished. Been an awesome and easy plant all around so far while growing her and I regret not cloning her.

Mostly just the stuff that was released in 2013.
I know there were several variations of GSC, Sleeskunk, several new sours, a bunch of new Kush crosses.
Should be a lot to work with.

I'm not going to do specific strains, but I think if you were basing things off of lines released in 2013, I'd say it would be hard to go wrong with Bodhi's most recent Appalachia lines, Archive's FaceOffBx1 & 2 lines, or Sin City's Blue Power or Nightmare lines. I think out of everything I grew, the only ones I kept that aren't from bodhi are from Sin City (Sour Nightmare), Dynasty (Crater Lake v4) and e$cob@r (Sour Diesel x Blueberry).

I had a somewhat dissappointing experience with Rare Dankness seeds.

Dynasty, e$kobar are on my get list. Haven't really heard anything bad about them. I do enjoy the appy crosses.

Was looking into archive, pretty solid overall then?

hey whatz up everybody im by far disappointed with sincityseeds sinmint cookies i ran like 6 of them got 6 hermi and end up picking off all the sacks just so i could taste it and got tangerine power that turned hermi pretty much everything hermi on me

im loveing my freebe ultrasour from th seeds shit is super dank i mean it

and of course jillybean from tga seeds its super frosty an all around great plant with hugh yields i got a main cola thats going to weigh like 2 maybe 3 oz

Hmmm 2013 releases i believe i only ran alphakronik dawgfather, project x, and american kush. I believe everything else i ran was released before unless faraono was released this year.
Ive started a bunch of shit that was released this year but veg dont count untill i flower i cant commemt.

The best was one very specific pheno of dawgfather that looked like superbomb, had a low yeild but was smooth, tasty and would knock everyones socks off. Wasnt a fan of american kush but i hate coffee and it reeked of it and tasted like it as well. Being a bubba cross i guess that makes it a good one though.

my best commercial this year was emerald triangle`s mastodon just good quality all the way around.
surprise of the year was a mix of auto`s that i gotten for freebees, never run any auto`s before they were fun and the smoke was no where near as bad as i`ve always thought.
didn`t run anything disappointing at all, guess i had a good year.

I liked JIlly Bean a lot; as you say the yields were very good, and the smoke was very tasty regardless of pheno [3]. It wasn't as potent as a couple others at the time...can't remember what they were...so I let 'em slide. I'd still like to see a pic of that cola.

Not my cup of tea but if you like bubbas you will like it as vegas purple kush is very close to pre 98 bubba that it is bred too. It has the tightest node spacing of any plant ive grown and is really hard to get it to throw some branches.the coffee flavour and smell is intense but i found it more relaxing sleepy weed but as what seems to be 100% indica thats to be expected. Doesnt need awhole lot of N to grow green and doesnt streach. Imo if i ran single stemmed sog setups it would be awesome if grown to 12 inches and flipped.

My dissapointment was the cougar piss from R.D. imo the afghan male wasnt a good mix with catpiss! I had both phenos, the catpiss leaning one is the one you want with sweet n sour smell. The afghan leaning one yields like a mofo, but to me the buzz is not what i thought it would be. I also got the chemtrail, but i pushed those to the side to try some strawberry sour haze from CGS.
What really cought me by surprise was the freebies that i got with my R.D beans. Sleestak x skunk freebie that came with my order from s.o.s . Fucking dank as fuck that packs that lung expansion punch that you'll feel like someone yanked the rug from under your feet. Huge yielder and reeks of fruit and if like someone pissed in a corner somewhere....superdank covered in trichs.
I ran it 2 times and now im tired of it already. Besides she streches way way to much for me and i need a new flavor...lol
