I caught it in RI…from what I’ve been told though, the fish likely migrated from the Hudson River. Apparently a bunch of their fish has sores like that.

caught this cow incidentally while bouncing a bucktail for fluke. it was way longer than my 36” measuring board. i figure it’s 42-44”

same reason old school aquarium people would throw copper pennies in the substrate. it’s very bad for invertebrates/snails/slugs.
