Maybe the male was just a bad pheno..myself I really don't focus on making 1 stable strain...I breed females that I like...I usually just stress a choice female and try to get it to hermie then pollinate another choice female with that pollen and save some pollen,then I grow out those beans....I usually find more than a few good phenos...pick a couple,pollinate them and so on...I keep getting pretty good phenos this way...always females.....the only downside is some do hermie...but I have recently started using reverse and it seems to be working so far so it looks like no more worries on that end....whiteberry x lavender....whiteberry x redwood kush .....whiteberry x purple kush......and whiteberry x bubba kush x mbs are a few fem crosses I have grown out successfully..I use whiteberry a lot since it is one of the best strains I have. I pretty much cross it with anything that I get thats good..I do straight crosses too but nothing to the point where I can say it is stable
