    Underperforming plants, various strains

Thought I would update. PHing to 6.2, still using soiless HPCC mix. Added UVA/UVB as detailed in previous post. Saucers replaced with drain tables. CO2 increased to 1000ppm. Went from 1 part bloom formula (PBP Bloom Hydro) to 2 part (PBP Bloom Hydro + Hydroplex) and cal-mag. I suppose PH was...

    Soil grower. Convince me.

I wish I could have gotten away with that. There are various factors involved including location.

    Soil grower. Convince me.

DWC is great but between grows you need to get as close to sterilizing everything as possible. Sanitizing isn't enough. Bleach and scrub the crap out of everything. Otherwise at some point you will get an infection.

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

Thanks for the consideration. It an alloy (6063) that is corrosion resistant and I don't think there will be much if any re-uptake from the rails to the potting containers. Something to keep an eye on though. If corrosion were to become apparent I would be interesting in some kind of protective...

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

Tables finished and in place. The last pan I tilted slightly so water flows to the corner where the bulkhead is located. The two lower corners were lightly sanded and sealed with silicon. I did a test run, dumping a gallon of water in the first pan and watched it work it's way around to the...

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

Thanks and yes, about 1000. I might have saved about 100 using a thinner sheet metal. The hardware alone was about 150. It's crazy how much a few bags of nuts and bolts cost.

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

I has the sheets pre-cut but I cut the rest myself: chop saw is a very useful tool for cutting metal up. Another useful tool: deburring tool. Run this around all the drilled holes exit points for a nice smooth finish. The alternative is sanding which isn't going to look pretty, or just trying...

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

Might as well add the build specs. I did run load calculations and research the alloys so if anyone does something similar it should be pretty stout and able to handle all the plants you can put on it. I use 2.6 gallon pots so the table rails might need to be upgraded if using larger pots. All...

    DIY Aluminum Drain Tables

I have a 8x12 flowering area and have wanted to install drain pans for a while now. I currently have plants on caddies which is nice but I'm not fond of squatting to feed them. I decided to DIY after seeing that it would be the best way to get exactly what I wanted. Each pan draining into the...

    Underperforming plants, various strains

After playing around with different options I have a UV plan. Early Flower: 12:31 (1:3 ratio) on/off for 1% UVA from 9w blacklight Mid Flower: 43:47 (1:1 ratio) on/off for 1.75% UVA from 9w blacklight Late Flower: 12 hours on for 2.07% UVA and .13% UVB from 5w 5.0 reptile bulb. This will...

    Underperforming plants, various strains

The 700-800 output is 5.5%. I ran it through an image editor to get a usable line. I can send you the data in csv or text if you want to play around with it.

That does look nice. Is there an option for a line graph? The digitizer won't be able to see the curve in that format. I've never had AI do anything that weird but I know it will estimate when it can't find exact figures and doesn't always state it's estimating. When a prompt contains more than...

    Underperforming plants, various strains

I've tried using AI to do the whole process. It can in theory complete all the steps, open the datasheet, pinpoint the SPD, crop, digitize and analyze, but the numbers are always messed up. I thought I could give a cropped image and skip some steps but it somehow screws that up too. Eventually...

    Underperforming plants, various strains

Just running off memory. I just digitized a Citizen 3500K 90CRI spectrum -> WebPlotDigitizer -> Excel and come up with 29% between 400-500mn (of 380-780). 420-480 is 25.7%. I don't suspect the Bridgelux SPD is much different than Citizen. I have cvs files for the Citizen and also Hortilum if...

    Underperforming plants, various strains

That's all pretty reasonable. The 3500/90 is already slightly over 20% blue so I'll have to keep an eye on the characteristics you mentioned and consider whether to modify the spectrum further. It may be that a rebuild using horticultural cobs or adding more red will be a good project next year...
