as far as soil prep, if you want cheap, go down to home depot and buy a bag of bonemeal, and a bag of bloodmeal. miracle grow organic is the brand i would reccomend for that... its cheap, and it works. follow the instructions on the package for indoor plants. another thing i would highly reccomend is to add some potash to the soil as well. you want to cover the planting area with the stuff, then mix it in thoroughly so that you cant tell theres ash in there. (potash is wood ash from burning hardwoods. dont try it with ash from pine or firs) also, grab some nightcrawlers from the local baitshop, and add a few to each plant locations soil. they will provide aeration and lotsa worm castings for the ladies to feast on.

a good, exposed, southern facing slight slope is the best plot of land for growing mj... the slope prevents drainage issues and facing south will provide the max sunlight

well, make sure you get them spaced out good and far apart from each other... lots of reasons why.
you want as much light as possible for the ladies, light is like gas for plants, the less light, the less they will grow!
