My respect for the plant has grown even more since I've been dealing with some painful long term injuries. Cannabis has helped my body and mind, reduced pain and inflammation, and allowed me to eat on days my stomach are a mess. I smoke, take edibles and use topicals and have been working hard to help myself and my mother who has fibromyalgia get a steady supply for our pain.
Ive lost many friends to heroin overdose and now more than ever society needs legal cannabis to help combat this horrible epidemic the opiate industry has created. Cannabis has kept me on minimum amounts of medication, kept me productive and positive when I'm at my lowest. I have personally witnessed the power of this plant in helping those dealing with addiction. I made a whole meal for a friend with a heroin addiction once and he passed out, slept 20 hours, woke up no longer wanting to use and with less harsh withdrawals. Incredible!
I'm a big advocate for legalized weed, and believe people have a humane right to use plants medically and the government should have no say. Especially not a government (U.S.) that used phony science, racism, and fear to make it illegal and continues to because of pressure and lobbying by the wood, textile, oil, tobacco, alcohol, and medical companies. The same government who classifies cannabis with heroin allows opiate medications and drugs they have no clue about the horrible side effects to be pushed onto people for profit. Throughout my injury I've had to constantly deny doctors wishes for drugs. They have thrown drugs at me for symptoms without knowing what the root problem is or if it would potentially make it worse.
People have been using this plant without overdose for thousands of years. It is my religious right, and above all my right as a human being on planet Earth to use this plant
