I think we have a different perception of flushing. Cutting off nutes is just that. Stopping the feed so the plant can finish on its own. That is most certainly not flushing because you are watering with your regular volume of water at the rate of your regular watering schedule, watering only as much as the plant needs and only when it needs it. On the other hand, flushing is a method used to leech salts from a medium by using at least the volume of the container, if not two to three times as much, until you reach a runoff of near 0 TDS. Flushing should only be used when a plant is overfed and/or experiencing pH lockout from salt buildup. Again, if you keep from feeding too much you will never experience salt buildup and will never have to flush. Flushing is not even close to the same as cutting the feed to finish. Apples and bowling balls, brother. Flushing should be an emergency method.
