If the humidity is right then your outdoor bed will work fine. If the RH does not reach 95-99% then sadly it will not work. Contams wont be too much of a problem as long as you let the mycelium colonize 100%, that's when it's at its most contam resistant stage. Mycelium is actually pretty resistant to contamination when it's healthy.
