Thanks, I did remove the lid and am keeping my mix moist, stirring occasional. smells great, like a nice rich soil, it's only 5 days old. Again thanks.

DesertGuru, I was impressed with your posts on making your own soil and did my best to follow your examples. I do have a questions if you don't mind. I made my mix and it is sitting in a metal trash can with the lid on, the mix is getting very warm and condensation has begun to form on the lid? Is this ok? I know by what I have read on many permaculture sites and such, as well as my own experience with my compost pile that that is how compost piles work, but am not sure that this is a good thing with my soil mix?
