So @Sativied or anyone else who cares to answer. I'm in the market for a pair of double end 1kw light fixtures. I'd like to give it a shot, what do you recommend?

I do believe it was just an el cheapo like this one. I don't have my notes on it anymore I'm afraid. https://www.fasttech.com/products/1612/10008079/1714801-6-10-1w-85-277v-high-power-constant-current-led No it was warm to the touch, well over ambient. It was adequate for the task at hand...

Jeese, imagine when you've got both sets up and running. Million ways to skin a cat.... No one claimed that mono's didn't work. Just expensive and cumbersome to work with. The price tag of the helio spectra lights reflects that. Compared the price tag of a similarly powered cob panel from any...

I think it was bridgelux that put out an image showing that graphite pads don't fill the voids quite as effectively as thermal paste. I can't seem to find it anymore though. I may have to pick some up to test out. I wonder if there is an appreciable difference in temps.

Well I've got it saved now as a reminder of when engineering goes awry :P Put it in a glass box and sell it on ebay :P or keep it as a display piece.

Works great if you have a pipe line and infrastructure in place for it. Not so nice if you have your gas supply in a tank. I know im one of the rare few in my area with a natural gas line and it costs mega bucks to have one put in. It's all situation dependant.

Sir all I did was ask you for a link to a source that you referenced. I posted no dogma, or anything other than 'interesting' implying that I would like to read the paper and understand your argument properly before replying. So stop putting words into my mouth and please provide either a title...

Free energy? Not so much, solar still has a price tag associated with it per kwh. There's a ton of factors to consider outside of the purchase of the panels themselves. Check out the solar panel forums out there, it's a bit enlightening. Not trying to be a negative Nancy, just realistic.

I'd like to see the research from S. Chandra you're referencing specifically. Your first source isn't doing you any favors so I'd like to see what conclusions you're drawing from the other paper. Sounds interesting. I have more thoughts, but you'll just disregard them so I won't post them.
