When I bought my 300W MH lights for €90 shipped each (from the UK) I did NOT expect great warranty, customer service etc. and I knew in case of a problem I'll replace LEDs myself. (This is the risk I was taking in exchange for getting a light as affordable as I could find). Buying a cheap China...

Who has bought from Kingbrite Technology Co?

How is Jerry declaring, say, a small shipment with just 4x LEDs? I really don't want to pay customs/fees, NOT because of the fee itself but because that crap will likely delay how long it takes til I have the lights. I hope its declared as gift or at a value where there is no customs charges. Sigh.

Who has bought from Kingbrite Technology Co?

Can someone enlighten me about possible custom charges with shipments from Kingbrite? Someone just told me I will likely have to pay customs as well..now I am pissed. On the bill from Jerry it said $40 for "DHL shipping" but he actually shipped the 4 LEDs with TNT. Cost incl. shipping and...

    Nutrients for soil grows

I am using Plant Magic Plus Oldtimer Organic, Grow & Bloom in soil. I am totally against all those "additives" and "boosters" etc, I think most of this stuff is a scam and ripoff. The only addition I use on occasion is CalMag, but then also only to fix a problem which was likely from wrong ph...

Shipping is likely $40 flat (TNT or DHL), so whether you buy 1, 5 or 10 doesn't matter, I guess package size and weight would be similar whether you buy 4 or 10. (It's not that a COB led weighs a ton or something :)) I am almost certain that shipping would also be $40 when you buy 10 COBs...

"Salesmen" are those folks who try to sell very expensive grow lights, rebranded or "Made in USA" WHICH USE THE SAME FRICKING so called "5W" LEDs driven at 2.2W and claim it's high quality lights. Whether the grow light comes from China or the US and whether it's 20x more expensive you can...

The problem with the site, I know what it is! (Technical, HTML)

Guys, I don't know whether you have techs looking into this. The problem is that the forum/site obviously doesn't return the correct HTML reader for refreshing content. I am looking at threads where posts are posted but I don't see them. Only by pressing refresh in the browser I see the new...

Ok $40 shipping DHL for 4x COBs was a little on the steep side, but TBH I am so sick of "China Post". I am often ordering smaller stuff from China, ebay etc. and it always takes a month or more. And not sure whether I'd trust China post for shipments of rather expensive LEDs...

Guys, I am/was quite happy with my 2x300W MarsHydros, GIVEN THE PRICE which was €80+shipping/pop. It's "ok" lights if someone is just starting out and is on a budget. I had some LEDs burnt out in the meantime (after operating 18/6 in hot Spanish weather outside for 6+ months) and got replacement...

Cree LED CXB3070 Powered Grow Light (9 COB)

Note that I am not exactly a professional...but.. I THINK (and was told) that 4x CXB3590 (approx 240W total), driving at 1400-1750mA are fine for my 120x60cm (4x3') area. So if you have X plants, look at how big your grow area is...this could be a rough estimate to calculate how many lights...

Cree LED CXB3070 Powered Grow Light (9 COB)

Do you even need veg switches? Say if you DIY, most of the drivers have dimmers. I figure dimming the thing to about all the way down to 1/2 of amps should serve as a primitive veg switch? (I am assuming that dimming the MW drivers ALSO reduces power draw?) Eg. that MW 1750ma driver, it dims...

    Mau5Capades: builds & grow journal

Other question: I see in this and related threads that people mixed 3K and 4K LEDs. Were there at some point no 3500k available so people used 3K and 4K (for veg/flower)...means that now it would make more sense just to get the 3500K lights, rather than mixing?

Which would be the 36V COBs running at 1400ma, right?

    Mau5Capades: builds & grow journal

Chiming in here... "cxb3590 ( 36v ) CD 3500K @ 700ma" Why 700ma? I did my calculations about the CXB3590 and think it's "best" to run them at approx. 1650ma-1700ma. Wouldn't running them at 700ma be a waste because you need way more chips for the same amount of light? (On the other hand I won't...

    Any problems using HLG-240h-C1750 to run 4 CXB3590's @ 36v?

Anyone have a RELIABLE source for the HLG-240H-C1750? Very interested.

The point here is (looking at various spectral curves) whether "little" blue is really a bad thing. It could well be that, say, a 3000K or 3500K is just "perfect" and that cooler lights with "lots of blue" are actually not even ideal. Of course I haven't tested this. It will likely also depend...
