I've got several one inch sprouts under a 40 watt CFL bulb. It's a nice bulb, but it's under the 2700K spectrum of light and apparently I did 6500k for vegging. Will the one I have now work? Also say I have 3 plants, should I buy a 250 watt hps or a bunch of CFL's?

I just bought a new CFL, 40 watts, (150 eq.) It's a monster bulb, but i was wondering if it was too close to my plants. I just sprouted 3 babys, all about 1 inch tall and the light is about an inch maybe 2 away. Should I move it back some? Oh and I meant "too" for the title.

Ok, as for water, I plan on either leaving my pots (they have holes in the bottom) in a pan of water or putting a water globe inside of them. Apparently they water plants for upto 2 weeks. Which do yall think is better? My mom said I could leave the lights on. (Yeah, cool mom).

I'm going out of town in several days, but I have 3 baby sprouts (first time grow!! and they sprouted today!!) Currently they are under 3 cfls (I'm ordering an HPS). If i leave them in the window they will get around 6-7 hours of light per day and leaving them outside is not possible....too...

I planted a germed seed 72+ hours ago. I checked it this morning and the early roots are green, but the seed is still attached, and just below where it is attached, the stem is slightly brownish/purple, but the seed is still attached. Should i try and help it off, or is it already dead?
