It doesn't look promising. If there is root exposed, cover it back up carefully. One of the pictures may show that it's a bit bright, at least for a seedling. I'd make sure it's covered up quickly and hope it recovers.

What I see in the pics, it looks perfectly fine. To each plant, their own time. We can't change mother nature no matter how much love we force on it (water, nutes, light, etc...).

Most problems are the same. But soil is much more forgiving. Just don't over fertilize. That said, hydro is the way to go if you're already going to spend a good bit of time with them. I grow in soil and still spend enough time with them to be hydro. I just need two plants at a time though...
